Radiator fan staying on with the car off

If it only stays on for about 5 minutes but no longer that isn't a problem, it is meant to do that. It is part of the thermo fan operation to help keep the car cool.
If it runs continuously and you have to take out the fuse or disconnect the battery then you have a serious problem.

Where is the cooling fan relay located on a 1997 ford escort lx. Replaced the fan and it worked for a few minutes then the car ran hot and the fan would no longer work.

This car has a relay module that contains a few relays internally and cant be serviced the relay box must be replaced, the relay box module that contains the fan and ac compressor and fuelpump relays is located under the air filter box, remove the filter box and you will see the relay module bolted there. hope this helps.

I have a 1997 Ford Escort and when I shut the car off the radiator fan keep running which causes my battery to die. What can I do

you need a new fan, they are meant to run for a while when you turn it off just to cool it down slowy so the rad doesnt crack in the cold. fords have a lot of bad earth wires so maybe this but I would check the wiring to the fan. its most likely caput!

I have a 1995 ford escort 1.9 4 cyl. that the cooling fan will not turn off. I replaced the temperature sending unit that is supposed to control the fan, and I had the relay checked and it was OK.

Check the connection on the relay to ensure that they are making a good connection, there is sometimes a problem with corrosion at these connections, pull the relay and look at the connector end, is there any evidence of burning or melting? if so replace it. Hope this helps, let me know.

1997 p ford escort fan problem

I have a possible solution... Have you had the cars computer checked to see if it may be that the computer is not telling the fan to turn on? I will also look into a possible alterantive answer to this as well.
