P0402 Definition is excessive EGR flow, means the EGR gets stuck open and if this happens at idle you will have a rough idle, you can take out the EGR and clean out any debris in there that causes the pintle to remain open,or the EGR just doesnt close properly due to being worn

This means the EGR flow is excessive. The valve may be stuck open or another defect is triggering the EGR to open too much.

95 Chevy suburban, check engine light will come on

First thing you need to do is get the fault code read. Autozone, etc will read them for free. Once you have a fault code, come back and ask a more specific question with your fault code. We need more information to give better responses. The more specific you are, the better chance of success. Which gears will shift, Which won't, what speeds, etc.

I have a 89 Chevy Suburban 2500HD 2wd, with a 350cid TBI, TH400 3spd trans. Everything is new or rebuilt (major overhaul six months ago) it has started displaying a check engine light after 2 miles or once...

Intermitten problem, as vehicle is running the computer is continuely recording, while the error is happening the code is registered. After the problem is not happening the computer records new information and does not maintain the old. Fix, find a road long enough to get the error code and safe enough to shut off vehicle exactly at the time of the engine light goes off. Place a jumper wire in the A/B ports of the onboard access connectors under side of dashboard under steering columns. This will be a electrical plug in with ten ports, top to left ports are the ones to run a jumper across. Turn on ignition switch do not start, the check engine light will flash. First it will flash once pause flash twice, this is the function code that lets you know the system is working. This will repeat 3 times, watch the code after that. Will work in same way first digit of code will flash and then pause second flash count is second digit of code.

I question the thinking of your mehcanic, the exhaust has odorless cumulatively POISIONOUS Carbon monoxide, smell testing went out in the 50s.

The questions are: is it consuming oil, is it running rich, any error codes? How is fuel mileage? What are the exhaust readings? The answers to these dicate the next step.

It is very possiable that you may be getting a false code that will reocure till egr problems are repaired. The ecu may be trying to compensate for egr problems causing it to send the 607 code

How do I program the remote in a 19990GMC Suburban 1500

Garage door openers hold the key to this issue. Get a ladder and read the label on your opener motor. Now days they use rolling code technology and an invitation process.

Read carefully, there are two processes, one excludes ALL other remotes, and one adds new ones...

Essentially the process is press and hold button on transmitter, then press and hold programming button on the opener... When lights flash, the two have communicated and will assign themselves a new communication code (rolling code) on every use...

I believe the corrected code should be 402.

DTC P0402 means that the OBD has detected a excessive amount of egr gases in the system. The EGR system has three major parts in it, The EGR valve, an actuator solenoid, and a differential pressure sensor (DPF). P0402 was triggered by one of the following, The DPF is faulty and needs to be replaced. There is a blockage in theEGR valve from carbon build up and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The EGR valve is faulty Lack of vacuum to the EGR to opperate properly. Most will clean the EGR valve and if that does not fix the problem, check the connection to the DPF and or replace the DPF. Good luck and keep me posted. be glad to help.

Code 402 0n 2001 mazda tribute

A code P0402 most likely means one or more things has happened. The DPFE (differential pressure) sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced, there is a blockage in the EGR (most likely carbon buildup) or the EGR valve may not be opening due to a lack of vaccuum.
