SOURCE: Cam Shaft Sensor Problems

Had the same problem before on my 04 Neon SXT...camshaft sensor is on left side of engine block, take out the battery and to the left of it (face car) is the camshaft position sensor. To change it you'll have to move a few hoses but its plan to see there on the left side of the engine...pretty easy remove and replace. Fixed my problem of car not going above 2k RPM when i replaced the sensor.

SOURCE: Where is the crank sensor located?

The sensor is bolted to the top of the cylinder block near the rear of right cylinder head
The sensor is accessed by removing the right front fender liner

  1. Remove right front tire and right front wheelhouse liner.
  2. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor pigtail harness from main wiring harness.
  3. Remove two sensor (recessed hex head) mounting bolts
  4. Remove sensor from engine.

I crank my car it stays running as soon as I kill it it wont crank back why

Could be a fuel pressure regulator valve. A defective regulator will often produce enough fuel for start up when the car is cold but not after the vehicle has run for a while. Then regulator should be located on the the fuel rail under the hood. If this is the problem you can prabably remove the fuse to the fuel then crank the vehicle for a few second so that there is no pressure build up. Then replace you regulator and replace the fuse.

Missfire on #1 cylinder not bad. Switched #1and #4 plugs problem got worse

There are sensors located throughout the engine. In most cases in order to locate the correct sensor, which needs replaced, the vehicle will have to be hooked up to a type of technology which will pin point the faulty sensor. Most likely, the problem is the crank shaft sensor or the cam shaft sensor.

Would a bad crank sensor cause car to loose power? I went over a speed bump and car just stopped

Actually, On 2006 vehicles the camshaft position sensor senses the TDC point of the number one cylinder, on its compression stroke. Its signal is relayed to the ECM to be used to determine the sequence of fuel injection. The Crank sensor is used to determine RPM ranges The crankshaft position sensor consists of a magnet and coil. The voltage signal from the sensor is relayed to the ECM to indicate engine rpm and the position of the crankshaft. This sensor wouldn't affect your performance but, the Cam sensor will if its damaged. To answer you question correctly, it would be the cam sensor i would check. it actually controls the injection system. if damaged, it will cause performance issues. On 2006 vehicles the crankshaft position sensor is located next to the radiator hose inlet and outlet assembly. On 2006 vehicles, the camshaft position sensor is located on top of the engine, on the engine head cover.

the heated o2 sensor is bad or has a bad connection it is usually the sensor after the catalytic converter and from the description you gave i wold say it is the one after the converter and you need to check any engine speed sensors crank sensors or cam sensors. the crank sensor would be by the crankshaft im not sure where the cam sensor would be and some vehicles wont have one im not sure if yours does

the crank shaft sensor will need to be replaced. it tells the vehicle to start. i am not sure of the exact location of it on your vehicle. you will have to call your local auto parts store and ask them.
