SOURCE: 2003 Dodge Durango clunking noise in front end can

With the information given this is not a sure solution. Questions that need to be asked is when does this happen, turning at slow speedm high speed, when hitting a pot hole etc? Since you have replaced a lot of things already, assuming you have NEW good quality parts so you did not replace bad parts with new bad parts i would definitelu check the pitman arm. This runs from the stering gear to the tierod. It can give you some good clunks while steering, especially at low speed when there is a lot of resistance. Check it by having someone turning the steering wheel when watchin/feeling it.

SOURCE: how do i remove the steering column cover to get

CAUTION Disconnect and isolate the negative (ground) battery cable. This will disable the air bag system. Failure to disconnect the battery could result in accidental deployment and possible personal injury. Allow the system capacitor to discharge for two minutes then begin air bag system component removal. To install:

  1. Engage the electrical connectors to the ignition switch and make sure the switch locking tabs are fully seated.
  2. Before attaching the ignition switch to a tilt steering column, the transmission shifter must be in the PARK position. Also the park lock dowel pin and the column lock flag must be properly indexed before installing the switch as follows:
    1. Place the transmission shifter in the PARK position
    2. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position. The switch is in the lock position when the column lock flag is parallel to the ignition switch terminals.
    3. Position the ignition switch park lock dowel pin so it will engage the steering column park lock slider linkage.
    4. Apply a light coating of grease to the column lock flag and the park lock dowel pin.
  3. Place the ignition switch against the lock housing opening on the steering column. Ensure that the ignition switch park lock dowel pin enters the slot in the park lock slider linkage in the steering column.
  4. Install the retaining bracket and ignition switch mounting screws, then tighten the screws to 22-30 inch lbs. (3-4 Nm).
  5. If the vehicle is equipped with a tilt steering column, install the tilt lever.
  6. With the key cylinder and the ignition switch in the LOCK position, insert the key cylinder into the ignition switch until it bottoms.
  7. Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder. While pushing the key cylinder in toward the ignition switch, rotate the ignition key until the end of travel.
  8. Install the retaining screw into the bracket and lock cylinder. Tighten the screw to 22-30 inch lbs. (3-4 Nm).
  9. Install the steering column covers, then the tilt lever, if equipped.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Check for proper operation.

2005 Dodge Durango 4.7 my hazard lights stop working. It's not the fuse.Could it be the relay?Where is the relay to the hazard lights?

Both the signal and hazard relay is located at the top of the steering column under the plastic cover. It is removed by just pulling it toward the dashboard. The cover comes off simply with a couple of screws from underneath? Make certain all the bulbs are good!

I hope this helps,

My airbag light on 2001 Dodge Durango is coming on and off without reason, how can i solve this problem?

This is likely the same as the problem I had with my 2001 Durango SLT with radio and cruise controls in the steering wheel. The air bag light came on periodically at first but then much more often. The mechanic checked the codes and said it was a bad clock spring in the column. $268 for the part and 2 hrs to put it in ($500. thank you). Being inventive I found a fix at $0. cost. Here it is. Disconnect the neg battery wire to disable everything. Remove the steering wheel airbag 2 screws from underneath. Unplug the air bag plugs. Remove the lower steering column cover 3 torqs screws. Test for continuity from the lower yellow plug to the upper yellow plug to determine which wire is bad(has no continuity). Move the bad wire and its clip to a different terminal on the 4 pin connector in the steering wheel end (2 are unused but have wires in the clock spring) and move the matching wire in the lower connector to the empty terminal that gives conntinutity with the upper wire. You need a dental pic to get the clips to release from the connectors. Re assemble the air bag, cover and batery terminal. You are now using one of the previously unused teminals and fresh wires in the clock spring. PS I don't a dealer will ever try this or tell you about it as they want to sell parts and labor. Happy Motoring

You can find the fuse box, under the steering wheel. Remove the plastic cover, and look on the back for the diagram to see which is the radio fuse to replace.

CAUTION The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before working around the air bag or SIR system wiring. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bag, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.
  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable from the battery.
  2. In order to disarm the air bag system, allow the system capacitor to discharge for at least 2 minutes, before performing any removal procedures.
  3. Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from behind the combination switch.
  5. Remove the mounting screws securing the combination switch to the steering column adapter collar.
  6. Remove the combination switch from the vehicle.

To install:
  1. Install the combination switch to the steering column adapter collar. Tighten the combination switch mounting screws.
  2. Reconnect the electrical connector to the combination switch.
  3. Install the upper and lower steering column shrouds and tighten the retaining screws.
Reconnect the negative battery cable and check all functions of the combination switch for proper operation.

1999 dodge durango heater core

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.
