2014 triton mn. How can I connect 7-pin trailer socket into existing wiring harness?


the simplest way to do this is to go to a tow bar installer shop and buy the harness ( around $25.00 aud)
it is a simple action of pulling a harness plug apart and inserting a piggy back plug in the connection
the wires for the trailer are properly installed and all you have to do is wire the plug connection according to the wiring diagram that came with the plug

I am going to suggest 3 things. Check your starter interlock switch on the brake pedal lever. Often your brake lights will not work when the interlock switch is broken or out of place. This will prevent the starter from cranking over.

The next suggestion is a Web search using the vehicle you own with the term "starter wiring diagram" or variations of it. You can get Youtube videos or short clips which are more helpful than verbal text.

Third, I know that 1999 models had a defect on the wiring harness to the starter. Whether you had an early build date for the 2000 model or if a 1999 part was used for a repair, this may be a problem. Corrosion on the wire underneath the vehicle at the wire attachments to the starter was most common.

2 ways to go here. either use the same gauge wiring as what you have and cut and splice or buy a new wiring harness. If you're asking for wiring schematics, then buy a repair manual at your local auto parts store, they're only about $20.

Check down at the Starter. There was a problem with the wiring connections at the Starter. Since the main wire from the Battery is probably corroded or completely corroded thru, it will not matter how much power you put in the top. The bottom is disconnected.

There was, I believe a NHTSA letter on this problem (See NHTSA.Com) and some Ford assistance on this. It would probably help if you had a copy of this report to show a Dealer. But it has been 11 Years.

I fixed the end terminal by soldering a new end on the main wire. This was after completely removing the harness (Like wrestling a Python) from the vehicle. It is not a good time. Your best bet would probably Internet shop for an Aftermarket harness. But if time is important, check Autozone or Oreillys or NAPA for the same part. An Auto Electric shop can easily duplicate this harness from scratch.

It is always possible that your Starter is bad. You can visually eliminate the wiring ends as the source of the problem. The Starters are not easy to remove without 3 or more feet of socket extensions.

5.4 triton, spark plugs are under valve cover have to disconnect harnesses and make room to remove cover pull bolts from cover, unbolt coil from each plug change plug reinstall coil, then change valve cover seal and rebolt down, reconnect harneses and then u realize u have other side to do still... yes one of hardest plugs to change in any vehicle

How do i change the spark plugs in a triton v-10?


All the spark plugs are located beneath each coil pack. The coils are located on the top of the engine next to each fuel injector, above each cylinder, through the intake manifold. you need to open the "dog house" engine cover in the cab. You will have to remove the intake hosing back to the throttle body from under the hood. then you'll have to access each individual coil pack by removing the four nuts(13mm hex) that hold the coil/ injector harnesses (and any wiring that might impede access), both from outside and inside the vehicle. The coils are each held down with a single bolt (7mm hex). once you unplug each coil from the wiring harness and remove the bolt, you'll be able to remove each coil to access the plugs. There is a special "Triton" spark plug socket sold by Snap-on Tools, but you can remove each with a regular 5/8" plug socket and 6" extension (and a little determination). When you replace the plugs, I would recommend replacing the plug boots as well,and using dielectric silicone grease inside where contacts are made to the coil and plug . Check for corrosion on the contact inside the coil, where the spring inside the boot attaches to the coil. Clean the contact points, or if too corroded, replace the coil( usually only in extreme situations). Replace everything in reverse order of removal. Hope this helps

You may consider tracing back from coil back to the main plug and checking wires going into and coming out of the plug for any broke wires make sure to look for collapsed casings sometimes the wires will break internally
