SOURCE: Check engine light

Only two choices, 1 - disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour, however if there is a problem the code will return. 2 - get a code scanner and figure out which sensor is giving the fault code and why? then fix the issue.

My 1989 dodge pickup only overheats going down highwa y just recently started i have replaced water pump, the thermostat and the radiator cap.i have even removed the thermostat and still building press

put the thermostat back in the right way . Check and replace the bottom radiator hose if it feels soft when cool. Old soft hoses will suck together at speed and slow down the coolant circulation. Have a flow test done on the radiator cores for partially blocked radiator.

It should be moving air from outside the grille thru the radiator and into the engine compartment.

No heat

You probably just need to backflush your heater core. You can use a hose to flush it back and then forward. You'll be surprised at how much sludge and gunk will come out.
