SOURCE: gas gauge flucuates to empty and full so we never know if we have enough gas. What to do?

It is a common problem. It is a faulty in tank sender. You can just replace the sending unit by removing tank.

SOURCE: gas gauge stuck on empty

Mine did the same thing. If you've tried starting it with a flat battery, the needle twitches and comes back up on the underside of the gauge rest pin. You have to remove the instrument cluster and slowly rotate it so the needle goes back to the top side. Its happened to me three times now.

SOURCE: 2000 Buick Century gas gauge reads full all the time

You're either looking at a short in the wire that goes to the fuel sender, or a bad fuel sender. If it was just a broken wire, it would read empty instead. The fuel sender is a permanent part of the fuel pump, so that has to be replaced as a unit.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 F250 Superduty 7.3l Diesel. When I

I had a problem with vacuum in my F250 diesel. It had a new vacuum pump but would kick out of cruise control every time the vacuum pressure dropped. It turned out to be the vacuum reserve cannister had holes in it.

Seems you reach a tipping point and then all the vacuum systems mess up. You might want to check the reserve cannister and any vacuum servo your 4x4 might have. You can check most of the vacuum stuff with the engine OFF using a vacuum pump. You could have a leaking vacuum pot operating the ductwork. Check your diesel vacuum pump for output and loose belts.

Have you looked at your anti lock braking system. It will give a pulsation when it is in use. You may have a problem with it and it is coming on prematurely. Listen when your truck is doing this and you should hear the humming of the antilock system if it is on. Otherwise i would ckeck your ball joints and tie rod ends for wear as this can cause a vibration back thru your braking system as well

Hey, all I have a 1999 mercury courger v-6 and the gas gauge in stuck on empty Lights on and cant figure out how to fix! Please help!!! Thanks Matt

Fuel sending unit . Most likely bad. It is in the fuel tank probably requires you to drop the fuel tank to get to it.

I have no gauges & alternator is out on a 2003 ford f250 superduty

There is a 10amp fuse for the gauges and the circuit that turns on the alternator. I think the fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box but your owners manual would tell you for sure.
You need to know if that circuit has power with the key switch on.
The wire going from the fuse to the instrument cluster is red and yellow and the wire between the cluster and the alternator is lite green and red.
