Merc c 180 elegance. Wiper is not moving but i can hear the motor. How do you replace the motor.

Probably not the motor if you can hear it, its probably the regulator, meaning the mechanisim the motor tuns to move the wipers. When you find the motor, pull it off, and make sure the regulator moves freely without the motor engaging it.

I have a 1999 hyundai accent and the wipers havnt worked in a while, its been sitting in the garage for a bit but i dont know what is wrong, i believe it is the wiper motor but im not sure. when i turn the...

You know it sounds like a break in the linkage as the wiper motor will not usually let you freely move the wiper arms yourself. Generally there is an arm attached to the motor which in going around and around makes a side to side action in the wiper linkage. Without any more info I would suspect a failure in the ball joint connection between the wiper motor arm and the linkage. On a car that old most likely you should look around for a replacement used linkage on eBay or Craigslist. Once obtained, get yourself a repair manual or search on youtube for a video on how to remove and replace the linkage. there are many folks selling repair manuals on CD for about 10 bucks on eBay.

Merc 240 windscreen wiper stopped working 1999 model is it the motor and how much will it cost please

Call the dealer for a quote. Then call a local IMPORT used parts/wrecking yard to see how much a used wiper motor is. Most mechanics will install a lot cheaper than the dealer.

Sorry, but i don't know how hard it is to change out this part.

Check the connections at the wiper motor (below cowl) leaves and trash collect there and moisture build up/corrodes contacts on wiper motor.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKS EVERY NOW AND THEN AND JUST REPLACE THE WIPER MOTOR WHAT CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN?

hi, this could be down to a couple of things the first thing would be that the wiper switch needs replacing this is what you use to turn the wipers on and off with these do fail from time to time.

The second would be the relay that controls the wipers this would need checking im not sure where its located on a merc.

As the wipers work from time to time then this would rule out the motor being at fault.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok.

Thanx for using fixya.com
