it is located on the inside of the frame rail just about where the drivers seat is located, u will need a Ford fuel line release tool to change it, the filter is held in a metal braket with one 8mm bolt to remove it, keep rags around the line with u take it off, there will be pressure present in the line, the little tools u need are avail from NAPA or Carquest or Autozone, about $5

When standing in the front of the vehicle the cylinders are numbered 1-4 up the passenger's side and 5-8 up the driver's side.
