Thermostat is bad or the head gasket is blown, Test on cold engine, first remove radiator cap, start engine and observe coolant in radiator, you should not see any air bubbles being produced by the engine as it warms up, some coolant may slosh out so locate a drain pan under car to catch any overflow, keep pets away from coolant!
If air bubbles are present the head gasket is suspect, further testing with a cooling sytem pressure checker is required to confirm the diagnosis. I had a 22RE in a 94 Toyota Pickup that had a warped block causing a blown head gasket. Not a cheap repair if it is.

Bad thermostats do not let the coolant into the radiator hence the engine will be hot but the radiator will feel cold when running.

Be careful with radiator caps, never remove one while the engine is hot, scalding is a most unpleasant experience.

05 chevy Silverado it starts and runs good 30 mins it shut off but it start right back up

Hello there, as a diagnostician for over forty years, we ask everyone to star with make , model, year, engine size, trans, etc. different vehicles have the same symptoms, but are caused through different parts. I am assuming it is a gas vehicle with auto trans, with over 100,000 miles. Are you using a hand held scanner or a professional system? Check coils, plugged fuel filter, when the vehicle dies and restarts, does the same 30 minutes apply. If not more than likely the fuel pump is defective, over heats and shuts. Codes in this case are really not important, but values are necessary for diagnosis.

Good luck

Car has trouble starting when hot

check for the coolent top up in the radiator and check your current wires going to the spark plugs from the distributer Basicaly your electrical system is getting hot because of insulation in the electrical system is exposing somwhere to the direct heat of the engine as a result current loss and engine does not fire

93 seville sts runs great and then after driving wont star fot 30 min to an hr. any easy solutions?

If/when you do get it started, do you have to hold the petal to the floor or give it a lot of gas to 'clear' it up again? Does it smoke when you first start it up? If so, you might have a leaking injector (s), the o-rings allow pressure to push gas into cylinders when you shut down, flooding the cylinder-will cause hard starting. If this is not the case, consider a heat-sink kind of situation with the crank sensor-it gets hot with normal driving, and gets even hotter with heat-soak when shut down and changes electrical properties (specifically resistance) until it cools down again. change the crank sensor.

Just got a 1996 chrysler Lhs as a gift but coolant was old and flushed it and put new coolant in and started to over heat thinking is my thermostat? but not sure please help.

Dear sir
Don't worry it is only problem of air in coolant hose system. to remove the air there is one screw on radiator or on radiator hose, lose that screw star the car fill up coolant to full in coolant tank let some coolant flow out form that screw after 2 min fix that screw ant make sure coolant level is within allowed max level. start car again problem is solved.
