yes, you can fix it by getting another charger yours is toast, blown up. I have never been to europe but they use 220 there, you needed a convertor because while in europe they do not use regular 110 in their outlets the way we do instead they sell convertors to being the current from 220 which is what you used to 110

I have a homelite 720 generator but cant fingd the instruction manual and i need to know if the charger leads only charge a battery or can be used as jump leads i know this might sound stupid but i wo


I can't find any reference to a Homelite model 720 generator but most battery charging systems do not supply enough amps to run a car starter. Battery chargers usually work in the two (trickle) to ten amp range. Car starters need way more amps to have enough power to turn an engine over, depending on the size and number of cylinders in the motor. Some chargers have a switch with a 60 amp 'start' position to help the battery turn the motor over, but without that there is little chance the charger side of your generator will supply enough amps to help your battery.

All but one cigarette lighter in my 2002 toyota sequoia doesn't work. The one by driver works but all of the other ones (passenger, rear, and cargo) just stopped. I think it is a fuse(s) but the owner's...


There is a 15 amp PWR OUTLET fuse, I believe it's in the engine compartment relay box--by the battery. There is also an accessory relay in the circuit. If the fuse isn't burned out, try swapping the relay with the horn relay. Let me know if you have questions.

Cd player stays on when you take the keys out of the ignition. how do i fix?


I assume you installed the CD player yourself?
There are 2 power connections to a typical CD player ...
* Battery (constant 12 volts to allow eject without key & keep memory etc.)
* Accessory (turns on radio when ignition is turned to acc or on)

The battery is typically a yellow wire and the accessory is typically a red wire. I'm assuming your installer has connected both directly to the battery cable (supplying power regardless of whether the car is on or not).

To fix the problem, you need to find the accessory cable in the car stereo group of wires.
I would usually use a tester to find which wires are 'live' when the accessory is turned on, then turn off accessory and re-test the live wires to see which one turns off when the key is off. This is your accessory wire and should be connected to the red cable of your car stereo.

I can find no manual on line for the charger but the basic & most important things I can share with you.

On the charger should be your On & Off switch, possibly 6 volts / 12 volts switch, (you want 12 Volt) some have a meter to show how much amp draw is taking place as it is charging and you'll have to determine that from observation.

MOST important parts: It is best to disconnect the battery you are charging, at least the Negative post. This will speed up the charge process & prevent any mishaps with the electrical system on the vehicle. I prefer the battery completely removed & placed on an insulated material, plastic, wood, rubber, to prevent battery drain by sitting on concrete or the ground.

If you can check the battery first for swelling/cracked case=don't charge! Frozen inside=don't charge! Thaw first. The fumes from batteries charging are explosive & no sparks, or flames should be anywhere near. Upon reinstalling, Negative wire is always last to connect & be sure that everything inside as far as lights & ignition switch are off to prevent excessive sparking when you connect the final cable.

Charging & connecting. I prefer to test unknowns such as the connecting cables to make sure they are what they say they are. You need a multimeter for this but for now, I am expecting they are marked properly for this instruction. You need a Positive clamp , this one usually has Red handles, to connect to the Positive terminal of the battery (marked POS or +) The other cable, generally Black, connects to the Negative terminal (marked NEG or - ) and provides the ground to complete the circuit.

Make sure connections from the charger to the battery are all clean & well attached, then turn ON the charger. This will prevent sparks near the battery. Be sure to turn off the charger once charging is completed, then disconnect the cables from the battery. The unit you are charging with should give you some indication about when you're charged 100%, but these are the basics of charging a low battery. If by chance your charger shuts down on you & stops charging immediately, you either have the terminals reversed, or a shorted battery. good luck

I need a new battery, and instruction manual has been lost. Its an '89 Town Car, so anyone think they could recommend how to pick up a battery? I'm fairly clueless about what to be buying...


If i'm not mistaken that battery group size should be a group 65 battery..you would want a battery with at least 700 cca's(cold cranking amps) you can expect to pay a good $90 for a fair priced battery for this vehicle....Your local autoparts store will have the exact application for your vehicle......happy battery hunting!! hope I helped!!!

the GROUP number should be on the top or side of battery as well as the CCA (cold cranking amps) you want to buy a battery that has at least the same or more CCAs. if you cant find the right size battery any auto parts store should be able to look it up in a catalog.the GROUP # determines the height,width,and overall size and terminal locations.some common group sizes are 24,24f,75,78,58R etc.hope this helps you.
