Question about 1995 Land Rover Discovery

1995 Land Rover Discovery, cutting off when coming to a stop or missing and then cutting off when foot not on gas. Starts back up but check engine light is now on. Could it be the fuel filter? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

The fuel filter will not cause the check engine light to come on,It will have to be scran, To find out why the light come on now.

The ignition system is controlled by the ECM. Check power at fuse box in on right side under dash. Check fuses right side engine compartmentlower dash panel if all OK check power to ECM located right side "A" pillar in alloy box. this unit could be faulty if no spark at coils, assuming they have been connected correctly. may have to get tested for codes at L/R dealer or someone with test tool. Another source of problem may well be flat battery in transponder key. The indicator light on the dash willflash rapidly for 10 seconds if the vehicle has been unlocked with the remote and the drivers door is opened if the battery in remote is getting low

Throtle possition sensor could be bad tell us what is the code that you getting from the Ecu if you don't have a OBD II code reader take to any auto part place and they will check for free

The code P1451 on a Land Rover is "Leakage Detection Module Motor power stage error Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum". This is an OBD-II diagnostic system code.
