Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
I recently ran over top of a dead deer coming home late one night. There is a bar that runs under the fuel tank and muffler. It looks as if the deer may have bent this bar up. It appears that there is maybe a paperwidth gap between this bar and the fuel tank. Could this cause rubbing and possibly wear a hole into the fuel tank? This deer was huge and scraped the whole undercarriage. I have hair everywhere the whole width of the vehicle underneath. This occured on New Year's Eve. Today is 5th and I noticed that it is leaving a mini basketball size circle of fuel under it when parked and you can definitely smell the fuel just from going around the block. I know this model has a recall (#54626) but the vehicle does still run. According to the recall notice the vehicle is said not to run and all. Up to this point, to me it did smell like it was running lean on fuel over the last couple of weeks. Regardless of which problem occurs, i need to correct it.
For starters this problem needs to be solved asp! there are vent solnoids and your sending unit which has your fuel supply lines which are plastic.could have been damaged, someting has been moved and is not making a good seal . please for your saftey and the saftey of others address this problem i would take this to a shop and let them get it on a rack good luck kdc744
