Do a Websearch with the subject you want, then enter. I entered and pulled some results, but seems you may not be in USA to have this vehicle. The Web in the UK showed EBAY, Amazon, and other 3rd party sellers online.

Check online 3rd party sites like the above and then enter your subject, probably just Mitsubishi 2000i distributor cap. Then redefine for Bakkie model. Imagine the engine could be in several models so don't limit your answers by using Bakkie right away.

Here in the states we have Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys as mass marketers of autoparts.

It cranks but the spark is weak It cranks but the spark is weak Mitsubishi colt 2000i

Likely bad coil or bad ground. There is no GOOD test for a coil except replacement with known good unit.

Replacement of distributer

Hi there,

Well, you did not state what Mitsubishi model you are using so I took the liberty of providing a solution for a Mitsubishi Galant with a 2.4L engine. Here are a few tips to help you through:
  • Find the distributor on the engine block by following the spark plug wires to the top of the distributor cap. Use a long-handled ratchet (breaker bar) to rotate the crankshaft bolt in the middle of the pulley near the bottom of the engine. Do this to position the No. 1 cylinder at the Top Dead Center (TDC) mark and align the timing marks.
  • Unhook the negative cable from the battery on the right side of the engine compartment, as you face the engine. Use a wrench to unbolt the distributor harness connector.
  • Unclamp the distributor cap and remove with all ignition wires still connected. Remove the coil wire, if necessary. Mark the rotor position relative to the distributor housing and the distributor housing to the engine.
  • Unbolt the hold-down nut on the distributor and carefully remove the distributor from the engine so you don't disturb the parts you marked. Take off the old O-ring. Install a new distributor housing O-ring and lightly oil; this will be a separate purchase from the distributor.
  • Put your new Galant distributor in the engine so the rotor aligns with the mark on the housing, and the housing with the mark on the engine. Be sure the distributor is fully seated and the distributor shaft is fully engaged in its spot. You can order part number SIJH253 from Parts Train. Since parts numbers differ among manufacturers, know your model, year and engine size.
  • Replace the hold-down nut and the distributor harness connectors. Clamp on the distributor cap and reconnect the negative battery cable, then tighten the hold-down nut.
If this is not the model you are using, you can post your question again, but this more specifically.

Good luck!

Where is the distributor cap on my 1998 Mitsubishi Diamante?

That car does have a distributor cap. It has coil packs. Trace your spark plug wires to find them.

My 84 Cortina bakkie 3.0 V6 has a terrible missfire.. I changed plugwires, the rotor looks fine, can it be the coil? In the morning when I start the van, it does not take, however, if i run a wire from the...

Your ignition circuit is faulty- it's probably the ignition switch itself that is defective. The misfire is that the distributor cap has a crack in it and the spark is directed to a particular plug wire and the spark has found its way to a non designated plug wire. It wouldn't be the coil, change the rotor and distributor cap be sure to mark your plug wires and reinsert into the proper hole in the distributor cap. Good Luck, Jim

Distributor problems

Best way is to replace cap and rotor and see if that eliminates the undesireable symptoms. Not that expensive versus a new distributor.
