SOURCE: How d you replace the starter on a 2005 Scion xb?

There are two bolts, one is at the top exactly opposite of the first one you took out. You will not be able to see it, but feel around the head of the starter where it goes into the block and you will feel where it goes.

SOURCE: How do I install alt. belt on 2005 scion xb?

I just looked at my '04 xB. It looks very straight forward.
loosen the bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket.
carefully slide the alt to the bottom. (Also be aware of the plug and wires on the alt. They should never hold the weight of the alternator. You dont want them breaking prematurely.)
Pull the belt off, remove the belt from the crank shaft pulley.

Do the reverse, and you will have replaced the belt.

Make sure to check the belt in about a week or so.
New belts will stretch over time. Make sure you keep the tension tight enough to work correctly, but not so tight that the alernator shaft is warped.
I usually place the new belt on both pulleys and give a good "medium" pull on the alt while tightening. Find the middle of the belt and squeeze them together, depending on the type and length of the belt, there should be about 1/4" of flex on both sides.

How many Speed sensors are in a 2005 scion xb

As far as i know, thee is only one speed sensor. It is located on your transmission. It is on the right side of you engine, underneath the air cleaner. Just a sensor, and easy to replace. Should take you less then an hour. There also might be one on you ABS system, but i am not aware of it on a Scion.

I put type A trans fluid in my 05 xb will this hurt it

If it drives smooth and no shudder noise, it's fine. Honestly, I would re-drain and replace it with the correct fluid. Here's a good website.

What kind of brake fluid do i use for a toyota scion xb 2005

Dot 3 fluid is the factory type, Dot 4 may be used too. The difference is in the boiling point Dot 4 is higher quality, and your brakes will work better if they get super hot with Dot 4, you can mix the two types they are compatible with each other. If you mix 3 and 4 you wont get the full advantages of the Dot 4, but it will improve fluid in the system.

I have a 05 Scion XB W/215000 mi My vsc ck eng light go on all the time. The dealer told me it was a little dirt speck of dirt in the timing gear and it would cost almost a thousand dollars to fix it. So I just disconnect the neg battery cable for 2 minutes and reconnect. The light stays out for about 4-6 months. when it comes on again I just repeat the steps.

I want to know what transmission fluid i need for 2005, Scion XB. And are there any tips for changing the fluid that i should know?

the fluid is type-4. There are no tricks for changing it just a simple drain, and fill. Also most maintenance questions can be answered in the owners maual in the back of the book.

2005 scion xb window quit

Sounds like a stuck motor. Hold the switch down and slam the door shut. This will usually break it free. It will most likely need a motor though.
