SOURCE: my 1991 honda accord only has 2nd and d3 please help

the light is on to indicate a hard fault is present in the transmission controls, you will need to have the system tested to find out exactly what the fault is.

SOURCE: Is it better to go into D3 wihile car is moving or stopped?

Well every gear has its limitations. I am not sure what the mph ranges for each gear are, but i've gotten to 60+ mph in 3rd gear. The only thing about driving on the freeway in 3rd gear is that it is alot less efficient mileage wise. Your turning more RPMS while on the freeway in 3rd gear so you burn up alot more gas.
Driving in D3 is driving in 3rd gear. It could burn up the tranny but it depends on the vehicle itself. It is not really made to do highways speeds in 3rd gear. It should be in 4th or 5th (OD)

It will not do any damage to the trans if you press the button whilst you are on the move.Just don't do it at 80 mph.Around town you are completly safe to change from D to D3 and back again. Its like the auto is changing to a slightly lower gear.Thats all it does.Hope this helps

2004 Chevy Cavalier; Driving; turned the corner and suddenly, no D1; D2; or D3. Reverse and park are OK. Transmission fluid checked and OK. No warning lights or sounds just will not go forward

I suspect you have a broken clutch drum or stripped splined shaft inside of the transmission. Even if the electronics failed you would still have 2nd, neutral, reverse, and park so the problem is most likely mechanical. Odds are pretty good that the transmission will need to be removed and repaired or replaced.

What does it mean when it lights up to say d3 on my honda crv exl 2007

If it means the same thing as my '04 accord it means that the transmission is in 3 speed mode ( no overdrive).

Transmission issue

NO, but it all depends on the issue with the transmission. The only time any warning lights may come on, is if the transmission experiences an electrical circuit failure. Such as failed solenoids, Low trans fluid (some vehicles), or anything dealing with sensors. If its mechanical (most failures are mechanical) there is NO warning light for this. Hopefully this helps!!

2003 honda civic you drive on the street with D or

Drive the vehicle in "D". The D selection is the overdrive. You can consider the overdrive as a fourth gear. The D3 is simply third gear, and if driven in D3, the transmission will never shift into overdrive when needed.

Warning lights on dashboard

Try pressing the D3 button on your gear shift - little button below the main one. D3 allows for quick acceleration, but the light also shows when the car is locked is gear ('limp home mode') due to another problem.
