Question about Lincoln Continental

I can't get gas to filter down into the gas tank on my Lincoln

Bought a 2000 Lincoln Continental 2 months ago (with 12,050 original miles), and it takes 10- 15 min. to fill the fuel tank. Fueling can only be accomplished with the slowest fill rate, and then cuts off after each .4 to .6 gallon flow. Then, wait 10- 15 seconds, and pump another .4 to .6 gallon. This is not so good when we've had single digit temperatures.

Dirty fuel filter, bad gas...dirty/clogged air filter...has your car sat for some time? Try 2-3 bottles of injector/carb gas tank additives...I prefer the Luca Oil Gas Treatment...Hope this helps.

I have a Lincoln Aviator 2003 and i want to change a gas filter how i do it

The fuel filter is integral with the electric fuel pump assembly, which is inside the tank.
To change the fuel filter, you will need to replace the entire pump assembly (~$400). This can be done by draining the fuel from the tank, removing the tank, replacing the assembly, and reversing to reinstall it.

On my 2001 lincoln ls the car starts up but shuts off. i pump the gas paddle, but it don't take the gas. it feels like the fuel filter is clog or the fuel pump is going out. where is the gas tank?

Please don't pump the gas pedal. It is doing absolutely nothing. The TPS is a potentiometer and sends info to the ECM.
The fuel tank is underneath the car, between the rear seat and the trunk.
Change the fuel-filter first, then if there is no change then you need to run a test to see what the fuel-line pressure is. If it is below 33psi then you may have a leak, a defective fuel-pump, or fuel regulator.

98 Lincoln Continental - Fueling problem

I found the problem!!! There is a square steel box under a plastic cover under the gas tank. This box is to filter the gas fumes that comes out of the gas tank when filling. Well the hose from the filler neck (or tank) fell off and was hanging there. I put the hose back on (very easy) and that was that, no more problem! I talked to so many people and mechanics and no one knew about this problem. I suffered with this for so long!. So do it yourself and save a ton I'm sure.
