I have an 1996 gmc sierra 1500 truck that when i turn on my heater it come form the front defrost and not out of the vents and i can find the vacuum hoses any where

Hoses should be run from motor through firewall somewhere...also check for vacuum (ball) Usually ball shaped...this ball stores vacuum to help operate vacuum accessories. Also...I've found problems with the control panel itself...partially electrical..and part vacuum...usually several hoses coming from it. I have a 96 Safari...a lot of similarities.

Fan blows no heat

With engine warmed up, feel of heater hoses under hood to see if both are warm (careful don't burn yourself). If they both are warm, flapper door which directs airflow through heater is not working, probably because the actuator is bad or you have a vacuum leak. Check line under hood which goes to vacuum reservoir for vacuum, and check one way valve(check valve). Replace any old soft or cracked vacuum lines.

Evaporator system, large leak

That can be caused by a large vacuum leak usually at the vacuum lines to the EVAP canister, or a loose fuel cap could have caused that DTC (Data Trouble Code).

Check the vacuum hoses very carefully for any cracks or broken lines especially the vacuum hoses to the EVAP canister.

I have a 1995 gmc sierra 2500 when i step on the brakes it wants to die and the power brakes go out but it never dies just starts sputtering and acting up

There is a vacuum leak in the vacuum hose system causing the problem. Verify all vacuum hoses. Especially the rubber parts connecting plastic hose to the joints. The high temperature causes these rubbers cracked no longer sealing properly with aging plastice hoses.

passenger side under dash. Your going to find two clear vacuum hoses have been knocked lose "likely by someones feet." simply reconnect the vacuum hoses together . Problem solved.
The blower switch is controlled by a vacuum line..

1996 GMC 1500 4X4- NO HEAT- NEW THERM / NO HEAT TO "IN" LINE TO C

there is a vacuum line running to a vacuum switch on one of the hoses try taking the switch out and connecting the hoses together. Thats what turns off the hot water while the air con is on. If that works then its bad or the vacuum line going to it has a problem.

Heater blower does not come out vents

Check your vacuum lines under the hood and particularly the vacuum reservoir which is a canister that supplies a reserve on vacuum to bridge the times the engine is pulling hard. These often have plastic nipples with pushed-on hoses that can snap off.
The directional control of air flow is most often accomplished with vacuum 'motors' that move vanes to change direction.
