My aviator will not go into park and therefore will not start

This can happen if the shift linkage has been bent slightly, or if a motor mount has broken. When this happens, the shifter inside can not move the parts in the transmission to the physical place it needs to be for the transmission to be in "Park". In these cases, it is really in Reverse. Climbing under the vehicle and moving it by hand there may get it into park - so you can start it, but you'll probably need to have it towed. In the grand scheme of auto repairs, a broken motor mount is not very expensive - and a bent linkage cost even less to repair.

Transmission will shift, but car won't move.

Hi, if it is an automatic transmission, it could be several things:
It could be really low on transmission fluid or the fluid may have leaked out. Do you see an reddish or reddish-brown fluid under the car? Check the fluid level by looking at the transmission fluid dipstick.
The torque converter (essentially a motion transfer device that resembles two fans facing each other) may be bad. As the engine spins, up, the fluid in the torque converter starts spinning and flowing and starts to 'spin' the blade on the transmissin side (it's called locking up the torqure converter). If there a malfunction in the converter, or no fluid, as noted above, no motion to the transmission.
Is the emergency brake stuck on?
Another issue might be the transmission linkage - when you move the shift handle to "D", there is a linkage that moves a lever on the transmission to change how fluid moves thru the transmission, etc. Check for a broken linkage between the bottom of the shift handle and the tranny. This is best done at a good auto repair shop or dealer.
If this is a manual transmission car, you probably have a worn out clutch plate or broken shift linkage. See a mechanic.

Transmission does not work will not shift

If it is a automatic transmission check the transmission fluid level. low trans fluid will not allow it to work properly, also if it is an auto the cable and/or linkages from the shifter to the transmission could have broken or come unhooked. If it is a manual transmission the syncronizers are probably shot. the syncronizers are not a diy fix for anyone with no experience working on vehicles.

The transmission does not shift even though the shifter is moving

Is it auto or manual? either way there are rods connected the the shifter with go to the transmission. If these are intact and they are moving the transmission gear selector its internal. If not just replace the linkages or bolts whichever is broken.

Transmission wont shift

check the kickdown/throttle valve cable. It may be bound up and stuck in the maximum position giving you extremely late shifts.

There ISN"T any modulators or vac lines on any Chrysler automatics
