Check condition and operation of thermostat.
Check operation of radiator cooling fan when hot.
Check radiator coolant level. If low, then perform a cooling system pressure check to identify cause of leak.
Check coolant condition. If using water only, then corrosion may build up within system and cause blockages. If blocked, then flush system and refill with anti freeze-water mixture of 50/50.

When air or heat is on squilling sound comes on 98 buick century

If the squealing is coming from the engine you may need a belt. If it sounds like the dash it could be your blenddoor actuator having problems cycling or the blower motor

1998 buick century blows cool air no heat. cant find the heater coil fuse if there is one. any ideas

It could be one of the following or a combination of the two:
  1. System is low on antifreeze/coolant
  2. Bad thermostat
Assuming the coolant level is good, the odds are pretty good you have a bad thermostat.

98 buick century , with auto climate control ,

is it HOT or just not as cold. If its HOT, like heated air, there is a door problem, if its just not cool, the a/c refridgerent is low and will need a recharge, most likely the comp is leaking.

1998 buick century over heats when stopped at intersections. Fluids are ok and fans are on.

Have your radiator flow tested...this time of year, many "marginal" radiators begin to show those symptoms.

Air in cooling system

if you have air what i can recomend is to turn the air conditioning on make sure the radiator fans are on and with the a/c compressor still runing set the cold and heat inside the dash board to the hotes and leave the car runing and keep addind 50/50 mix ANTIFREEZE TO THE RADIATOR UNTIL IS FULL you need to keep there until teperature is normal and no more air trap
