If you mean the gas gauge doesn't read correctly then the most common problem is that the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank is defective. To change the sensor you must drop the fuel tank out of the truck or remove the bed and access it from the top. You will also need a special tool to remove the fuel lines from the tank fittings..
