Oil light keeps comeing on ???

Remove the electric sender and install mechanical oil gauge to check that you have proper oil pressure. Bet ya the main bearings are not fitted correctly or the engine wasn't cleaned during overhaul and now bearings are trashed.

You must have the wrong head gasket on the engine and it is blocking the oil port.

Sounds like it was frozen, how cold was it ? most likely the coolant wasn't mixed for that climate, when you say a hole, any chance it could be a freeze plug (it will be round and copper)

88 Toyota p/u stalled on way home. Engine was smoking and the oil light came on. I immediately put in one quart of oil, got it started and drove it half a block to park it safely. Got another quart of oil...

It's not suprising that the engine stalled after getting hot considering you had run the engine out of oil as indicated by oil pressure light coming on and needing two quarts to refill it. Now that the oil is replaced, you could keep driving, but it would be wise to investigate why it had got so low on oil in the first place. Refer explanation below. You should check the oil level weekly to ensure it is at the correct level and top up if necessary. For that year vehicle, oil and filter changes should be around the 3,000 mile / 5,000 Km mark.
It sounds like the engine could be using excessive oil by either leaking out or being burnt in the cylinders.. If there is a major leak then there will be oil puddles under the engine after sitting for a while. Excessive oil burning in the cylinders is indicated by grey oil smoke from the exhaust when driving. If engine has oil and grime all over the best way to find the leaks is to get the engine pressure cleaned and then observe where the oil leaks are. The most usual places for older vehicles are the sump and valve cover gaskets followed by crankshaft seals. Oil leaks can also come from a loose oil filter or a faulty warning light pressure switch. If exhaust smoke is excessive then it would indicate worn piston rings and / or valve guides and seals.

The oil light comes on when i'm stopped and when i drive the oil light goes off however i opened the hood and i've notice on the side of the engine block i see oil moisture around the block and oil that...

The first thing to do is check the oil level and top it up and then check it quite often until you get the leak fixed.
To find the source of the leak, wipe the side of the engine down with a rag to clean off the excess oil. Start it and let it idle while you watch for oil to start coming out. Focus on the area where the oil stops. Occasinal reving the engine may help. I'd be looking at valve cover gaskets as the most likely cause., They are an easy back yard fix. Hope this helps.

Bmw 323 'r' reg e36 engine oil light flashing

your oil pressure switch is a great place to start. since the oil was really thick you could have a horrible oil sludge problem. about 50-100 miles before your next oil change take a bottle of Transmission Fluid and dump in with your oil. and Drive for the remaning 50-100 miles with the Trany fluid still in the oil. The Transmission Fluid is a great Cleaner for sludge.
hope this helped you

Oil pump

Sorry to say, but you might have some serious problems. I'll list 3 vague the possibilites, best-case scenario to worst.
1. You blew a gasket, oil pan, timing cover, valve cover. Any gasket that holds engine oil in. If this blew out, you would lose oil, the light would come on (low PSI) and the motor would sieze.

2. You have a serious clog somewhere in you oiling system which caused a PSI spike, blowing a line or gasket. The clog is a problem, which comes from sludge and deposits. Oil ports, holes and lines in the engine are fairly small and not difficult to clog if the oil and filter are neglected.

3. The worst thing that could have happened is you blew your motor. Overrevving, driving to hard without letting it warm up or again, neglecting the oiling system. You may have thrown a rod through the engine block, dropped a valve, spun a bearing or lost a main seal. The main seal is the least serious, but the labor is still extensive.

In your '94, If the engine stopped on it's own (you didn't shut it off), it probably siezed. In many cases this is not repairable. Start car shopping.
