Question about 2008 Subaru Outback

Running Lights not turning off

The Running lights wont turn off when the car tuns off. The wiring is tied to some of the middle console lights as well, as they dont turn off either. I found the fuse directly related to this in the engine box, but its not blown or anything. Ideas / Thoughts?

Did you check the switch on top of the steering column? It will turn on your parking lamps separately from the headlamp switch, and it is in the customary position for a hazard flasher switch on Japanese cars - maybe someone bumped it by accident or turned it on when trying to get the 4-way flashers to work.

SOURCE: I have acquired a 1985 Subaru GL-10. The wiring

Definitely not, the wiring is nothing similiar between these two models. For a wiring diagram for your 85 model you should be able to find a Haynes manual for the GL-10, it should cover everything you need.

I have a 1996 buick century the back 2 middle lights domy get any power would that make my right side brake light fail

A bad ground on the middle lights could cause the brake light to go out. Also, a bad ground on the brake light would cause it to go out. Check all your grounds.
A lack of power to the 2 middle lights shouldn't cause that problem. See if the wires to the middle lights tie onto wires for other lights and check right there for voltage.
Check your fuse, if the fuse is good, go on back from there to the lights that aren't working.
That's how I'd do it, anyway. Garcuda

Turn signals wont turn on before they would turn on after 10 or 20 minutes into driving but now they wont. but the hazard lights do work. I heard that it may be the flasher module.

I can't see it as being the flasher unit as it is used for both hazard & tuns signal lights,it is more likely a wiring problem or the turn signal switch that is faulty, check the wiring to make sure that there are no wires loose or connectors unplugged.....hope this helps......cheers.

sounds like a ground or power failure you will need to check with a test light from what point to what point you are getting power to etc...then its also from your description possible to do with the electrical system itself i suggest looking for the obvious 1 st then ck for shorted fuses and relays broken worn cracked wires etc that's a starting point also sounds as if the wiper and tun signal armature have a connection to this issue !

Sounds like a HOT wire to those lights is grounding out on the vehicle somewhere. I would trace the wires to see if the insulation is worn through somewhere.

My 2001 Astro van does not have brake lights, the top led brake light works, but the others do not. The turn signals/parking lights work, no brake lights. Where should I start looking? Could this be at the...

the problem is probably your turn signal switch. I know it sounds weird, but the brake lights work through the switch. If the third brake light works, then the brake light switch works, the turn signal switch works the lower brake lights. It's the switch under the steering wheel inside the column...not the easiest or cheapest thing to replace, but should fix your problem. If you decide to do it yourself, tie some wire to the connecter on the end of the switch wires at the bottom of the column...that way when you pull the wires up throught the column, you can use the wire you tied to them to pull the new connector and wires back down through the column.
