Just replace the thermostat. They are cheap and generally very easy to change. Look on youtube or google for your model of vehicle followed by thermostat replacement.

Heater stopped working right after changing thermostat.

Did you fit the thermostat the correct way..? Most thermostats have a small hole in them which should go at the top. This allows air to bleed from the cooling system... There may even be an arrow stamped on the thermostat which indicates top:

car thermostat position Google Search

If you fitted the thermostat correctly you probably have an airlock in the cooling system .. in the heater matrix, caused by a drop in coolant level when you changed the thermostat

Set your heater control to HOT (this will open the heater valve and allow coolant to enter and circulate in the heater matrix).

Remove the radiator cap. If you can't remove the radiator cap, remove the cap on the coolant expansion bottle.

Start the engine and let it tick over until the thermostat opens and the engine reaches its full operating temperature. Any air in the system should escape. Top up if necessary.

High temperture

Have you check the thermostat?
You might want to remove it and install a new one see it still overheats.

Dose the car have to be running to bleed the coulant system

Yes it does. Only after the car has reached opperating temperture and the thermostat has opened can the car be purged out of the system.

2000 camry code po125 what is proper operating temperture

Or you have a faulty thermostat. The thermostat may not be allowing the engine to reach operating temperature if stuck open or leaks keeping it in open loop. This will affect fuel milage. If the wiring to the sensor is good replace the thermostat and ensure the coolant level is correct and that ther is no air in the system after servicing.

Blue temperture lights comes on while driving

It means the engine is still cold or it hasn't reached the proper temperature due to a faulty engine thermostat.

I have a 1997 Saturn SL1. It was running fine during the colder months but now that it is warm doesn't really run at all. I can start it up when it has been sitting for a while drive a few miles but...

1. Start the car and let it run until it reaches operating temperture.
2. Feel the top radiator hose. If the engine is warm, but the top radiator hose is not, the thermostat is stuck closed. Replace it. (be sure to ask for a thermostat housing gasket when purchasing thermostat).
3. If this does not correct the problem:
a. replace both the air and fuel filter b. add one bottle of Sea Foam Fuel Additive (auto parts store will have it) to full tank of fresh gas (add before fueling).
It is also a good idea to perform a routine tune-up which inlcudes the above as well as:
1. spark plugs and spark plug wires 2. distributor cap and rotor (if equipped) (otherwise you'll have coil packs) 3. change both transmission fluid and oil (with filters and gaskets) 4. air filter and fuel filter
If the problem persists, have a diagnostics test performed by a techinician and consider the following repairs/replacement:
1. MAS - mass airflow sensor 2. crank shaft sensor 3. cam shaft sensor 4. O2 Sensor(s)

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Temperture Gage

First of all, it doesn't sound like your thermostat is working correctly to keep good hot/warm air coming , so I would change that, or have it changed for better heating inside. If you lift the hood & look in front of your radiator, On the engine side, you'll see a fan attached to, or in front of the radiator. It won't come on until the coolant temperature gauge gets up to proper operating temperature. Without getting in to too much detail, have your thermostat changed, and my guess is everything else will start working as it should, and whoever does the work, should know enough to check the fan operation when they do the thermostat.

No heat in Hyundai Sonata 2002

Check for an OBII code. have it scanned for free at an autoparts store. it is not the thermostat since you have already replaced it 3 times.Check for the temperature control sensor during scanning..

Auxiallry fans on radiator dont seem to come on. how do they work

Hi, They are controled by a thermo-fan switch, when coolant reaches a certain temperture fan switch turns on radiator fans and brings temperture back down. Thermo-Fan switch is located bottom of radiator.
