Have 84 Goldwing and hasn't been run for a couple years. Starts up but loses power and backfires when throttle is advanced. Would old gas c this?

Some water in the gas and/or a blocked restricted fuel filter. Definatially bad gas will do this, but don't forget the fuel filter too.
A couple cans of sea foam will help alot but it being a Gold Wing eeks.. I'd drain the gas as much as you can and get fresh! The sea foam won't hurt it though. but might not still run perfect.
Safe riding! Can't even think about it with -10.

Got a 2004 that sounds like its missing and it also loses power when taking off and is using so much gas . Any suggestions why its doing this and can i do for it using so much gas

not knowing what kind of car doesnot help, but if it sounds like its missing, and loses power on taking off ,plus burn alot of fuel , i guessing that it has a miss fire, i would bet that the service engine light on the dash is on, of blinking . if it is on acode reader will give you what cly. is missing. and that can be anything from a spark plug to a coil. fuel injector, with out know if and what the codes are not much help.

You don't have a simple problem. Engine light has to be read by a scanner (OBDII) available at autoparts store. Or take to mechanic. After you get code you'll have to be a mechanic to fix problems. Burns lots of gas can be many different causes. Miss in motor, same. Please take to professional if this is beyond your knowledge. Good luck!

1996 audi vacuum hose problems, burning gas alot i

mcdevito75 here, Vacumn lines broke or disconnected will truely effect gas mileage even with the best tune up, Leaking fuel injectors also, a leak in your fuel system also, you can usually smell the gas, also a crack in the intake manifold or loose bolts on the intake manifold will create bad gas mileage, have your repair shop check all these items for you.

1998 sunfire 2.2L (burning alot of gas)

You should take the car to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve the fault code(s) that are stored in the car's computer. Most parts stores will do this at no charge. That will give you an idea of issues with the car. Excessive fuel consumption can be caused by a timing issue, a compression issue, or a fault or leak in the fuel system. Getting the fault codes would be a good place to start in identifying potential causes. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Gas mixed in with engine oil

sounds like you have an injector that is staying open all the time, and dumping fuel all the time and not only when its time.It is most likely the one where the plug keeps fouling. The engine light is probally showing a misfire on that cylinder also, please take it to a qualified tech to have scanned and checked

1993 Ford Tuarus Gl IN NEED OF HELP!

Well this could be in your timing. As cars get some miles on them the timing chain stretches therefore causing you car to lose alot of power. So you may want to have your timing set on this car. Also I had a taurus that had a bad torque converter, and it lost alot of power on hills and under loads, also when i gunned the gas pedal. so try the timing first. Hopefully you dont have a bad head gasket or a cracked head these symptoms you are describing are all signs of head gaskets or blown heads
