Was it a complete set? clutch , pressure plate and throughtbearing?most of the time when you buy a kit they have blocks in the pressure plate for shipping purposes they have to be removed or it will do what you are discribing. i am guessing its a hydrolic clutch.weather it is or not them blocks have to be removed.if no blocks it could be throughtout bearing maybe wrong length? or air in line for clutch.

I have a chevy s10 and the clutch petal is very hard to push

Most likely clutch is worn out, increases pedal height and pedal resistance, recommend replace if around 100,000 miles old. Also good idea to replace clutch master and slave, and service trans fluid.

I take it that you are talking clutch system . There will be little pressure in the master cyl side until you bleed out all the air. The suction you feel is when the piston returns and draws in more fluid from the reservoir so that there is a full charge of fluid for the next stroke. remove the bleed screw and place your finger over the hole and use your finger as a valve until you get full fluid flow. Replace the bleed screw and finally bleed out the air . that got in while you were replacing the screw.

I had a new clutch asembly and new slave cly put in my 1990 nissan truck about year and half ago. My problem is my clutch is hard to push down and if i don't push it all the way to floor it will g

replace the clutch master cylinder. The rubbers on the piston swell over time and/ or break down blocking up the ports in the cylinder.. Wrong fluid is the main culprit for this type of fault.

Acura rsx won't shift when it's on, only when off it shifts

This may be a clutch problem or a cluthch slave, what is happening is the transmission is not completely stopped spinning, so as you try to go into gear the clutch is not disengaged completely. this can be due to a bad slave or master.

The fluid for the clutch master, make sure its full. if low then you may have a leak. if low fill and pump pedal a few times to see if that helps.

If clutch master is low or full go to trany and locate the cltuch release fork on the transmission at the end you will see clutch slave, make sure there are no leaks. have someone push clutch pedal as you watch the fork move. make sure it move the distance. if its leaking then its bad.

The last thing would be the clutch pressure plate or disc, this is hard to see without removing transmission, If something broke away from cluch plate and is jammed against plate this will keep traany spinnig, but it would also be hard to get into first.

If you can start car in neutral and put into 1st gear without a problem then thats confusing, but if it is hard to go into first also then its in the clutch system. i am guessing you are in first with clutch down when starting and then its hard to get into other gears. good day.

The clutch pedal is rock hard won't go in too gear checked the clutch master cylinder and thats ok, so do you know what the problem is.

Possible solution! Daewoo Lanos 98-99
Had the same problem suddenly the clutch pedal went rock hard!
The clutch was around 3 months old.
Mechanic checked - Master, Slave, Clutch Components, and inside the box, all looked okay.
Turned out the top arm of the clutch pivot rod had twisted, replaced pivot rod around AU$100.
Fixed Problem!

Car stalls when braking

It appears that the clutch is not releasing properly when you push the pedal down. How much free-play does the pedal have when you start to push it down? It should be about 3/4 inch or so. With the engine off and in first gear, have someone push the clutch pedal down all the way while you try to rock the car back and forth. If it is trying to turn the engine while you do this, the clutch is either not capable of being released or the clutch hydraulic system is delivering insufficient oil to the slave cylinder at the clutch release arm/shaft. If this worked correctly before the new parts were put in, the person(s) that did the work should be responsible for getting it to work again. Make sure that you don't have several floor mats that are under the pedal thus preventing full clutch release. Hope this helps!

88 chevy c 1500. The tranny will not shift to OD

yea thats possible, the trans has servos that change gears, have a diagnostic done at a trasmission shop, a quick hook up to a computer will tell if there are any servo faults, it may be a minor issue and just needs a adjustment, or could be a sign that the whole trans is on its way out. but you should have it checked as soon as possible. good luck and take care

Clutch problem

Open bleeder at slave. Push down on pedal and hold. Tighten bleeder and repeat until fluid is present. Then pump up and bleed remainder of air. Requires two people.
