Check rubber seal if there is one, then EVAP purge solenoid. Also dealer should have a smoke machine to pump smoke into the line to check for small leaks. Good luck

SOURCE: Check Engine light on 1998 BMW Z3 roadster

yes the light is because of the gas cap being gone (sets code in evaporative emissions system), replace the gas cap, disconnect the battery for five minutes and that will turn of/reset the light, make sure u have the radio code before u do this, if u don't u will have no radio after the battery is disconnected..

SOURCE: Check Engine Light won't go off

If you have an Advance Auto Parts store where ever you are, they will read the code and tell you exactly what to code is and what it means. Any mechanic who "guesses" isn't a mechanic at all - he's a thief. Emissions leak can be any number of things, but not the gas cap!

SOURCE: 2006 Saturn Relay Check Engine Light

PO455 is a large evaporative fuel leak. A bad fuel cap is ONE of the things that COULD be the problem. Fuel system cleaning only lightened your wallet. Reading your post is confusing. Did all this start AFTER the Valvoline Wallet Flushing? If so , they left something loose or disconnected. I would find a qualified repair shop to fix the problem, and if it has anything to do with what Valvoline did, make them pay the bill.

How can I find out how to fix my check engine light, can it be related to the gas cap in any way?

It absolutely could be the gas cap. I would stop and get the code read for free at advance auto or autozone. If it is a newer 2003 -2006 Ram, they are known for popping engine light when the engine oil is getting old or if the wrong type of oil was put in.

2006 Scion TC code read code PO441-PO455 What does this mean and what do I check?

A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

* A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
* A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
* Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system
P0441 is Evap Emission Incorrect Purge Flow;

Check engine light has come on twice just after getting gas..coincidence? my friend cleared the memory first time. I drove all day and night nothing changed until 1 minute after leaving gas station,...

Your gas cap could be bad. They are designed to hold a vaccum, if there is no vaccum it will trigger your check engine light with a EVAP system problem. It could also be from not tightenig the cap down properly(don't worry, it happens more than the world will ever know). Always make sure to tighten the cap until it clicks three to five times. And you should be able to get your gas cap tested for free at your local state vehicle safty inspection location. Gas cap testing is a part of most states vehicle inspection process. Good Luck and I hope this helps in some way

Fuel/gas cap

have you replaced the gas cap? most of the time when a check engine light is on for the gas cap, its because the cap isnt venting the fumes properly or the cap isnt on tight enough.
