Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada

1 Answer

1998 Oldsmobile Bravada low beams always on

I know my car's running lights are always on during the day, but recently my low-beams that turn on when it gets dark are on in the middle of the day. I've tried turning the light switch, and restarting the car, but they will not turn off. My interior lights are supposed to dim when the low-beams on are when it is dark out, so now my interior lights are very dim in the middle of the day, and I can barely see them. Is a sensor bad, or is it a faulty switch, or something else?

Where do you have the switch off or auto ? Turn them off !
Use the scan tool in order to read the body control module (BCM) current trouble codes.
Is DTC B2575, B2577, or B2600 set as a current code?
Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System
Go to Step 3
Remove the DRL relay from the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC).
Do the daytime running lamps remain ON??
Go to Step 4
Go to Step 5
Check the headlamp power relay in the underhood fuse / relay box !

SOURCE: How do I adjust the headlights on a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada?

I once thought I had the same problem and then I discovered it was just snow and ice on the lights!
If that's not it you'll have to pop the hood and find the adjuster on or in the light casing.
Hope this was helpful!
Good Luck!

SOURCE: How can I adjust the

in order to adjust the low beam portion of the headlights u would have to adjust the high beams as well its a matter of adjusting the whole headlight assemblies themselves... you can attempt it on a wall a distance away yourself but this is never very accurate.... if you were to try this though there are two adj. screws on the backside of each headlamp. Best solution is to bring the vehicle to a reputable body shop and pay to have them aligned correctly with a machine. Hope this helps

tumblers in the ignition switch and/or thew key itself is worn down and not pushing the tumblers into correct position. Only fix is to get a new switch assembley or try a fresh cut key.

The problem is likely a faulty (sticking) relay - remove/replace the relay and check the lights extinguish.

My 1998 Olds Bravada has the key stuck in the ignition. I paid to have a new ignition key cylinder put in, but the new one does the same thing. The key will start the car etc. but won't come out of...

I know in the newer versions of the Bravada, Trailblazers, Envoys, the ignition switch itself is always the culprit. Not the switch the key goes in, but it's located under the steering wheel column. I know how to replace the newer ones but not yours. That's the first place I'd look.

1998 olds Bravada, runs great in the driveway, once in gear, i give it gas and it quits, only happens in cold weather

Bad TPS will give you a SES light. Possible low fuel pressure from bad fuel pump. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the service port close to the firewall, should stay above 50 psi when juicing the gas. Only use OEM parts on a Bravada! Try "thepartsladi" store on eBay.
