Sounds like the oil ring in that cylinder is shot or head gasket is blown internally and is leaking into cylinder

We have a1995 saturn wagon with the 1.9L twin cam engine. This was a $500 car 14 months ago but she runs great until she gets hot and then their is a loss of power and she sputters like crazy. Also a...

most likely it is an engine miss fire when hot, the smell is the catalytic converter overheating because of the miss fire, if you fix the miss fire the smell will go away, try replacing the spark plugs and plug wires, and see if the problem dose'nt go away.....good luck

Hello there,when i starts z car in z morning,blue smoke comes out.Is that normal please.And z car miss fires if i accelerate suddenly.I have changed z distributor,spark plugs n wires.Z car is of carburator...

The blue smoke is OIL, coming from bad seals in the valves. It drains into the cylinders overnight and when you start the car it burns the oil off. This is probably fouling your plugs and if backfiring will fould the carburator. The miss firing is due to the age and most likely the timing of your engine, along with fouled plugs and carb.

Spark plugs is soot black and there's a check engine msg after oil spilled on the engine when i forgot to cover cyclinder head oil cover

the black soot may be old plug wires that should be replaced chances are the spilled oil caused the engine to miss fire setting off the check engine check the inside of the plug boots and plugs for oil.

Engine was miss firing so took to an auto hobby and they said that the plug in cylinder 7 was covered in oil. What could be some causes of this?

Could be broken piston oil ring(s), bad valve seals... Have them do a compression test. How long since you have changed the plugs??

  2. check engine oil for dilution .
  3. check piston ring and engine piston that are corroded .
  4. Change oil engine oil. Check the ignition system.
  5. check the spark plug and set the firing order of the spark plug.

Miss firing engine and black spark plug

Is it a two stroke machine , do you mix your own fuel.

If so over dosing on the oil component will cause your problem, check for the right mix levels and follow them.

Is the choke going full back to zero ?

Are you running the right type pf plug for that engine, some run hot some dont

Is the engine running smooth or lumpy.
For a four stroke engine

Your engine may either be running very rich or there is wear on the bores causing oil to get to the electrode.

You can obtain a spark plug extender which takes the plug out of the direct line of fire

Engine of f22b 2.2 twin cam honda prelude

pull the spark plug wires out of the number one and number 4 cylinders, then pull the spark plugs out aswell and connect them to the wires they go to. then hold them two the engine block and see if you have a good strong spar/ark.......if not then ur distribortor crack is ur problem, if it does spark take all 4 spark plugs out of the engine and hook up a compression guage and check the compression, if good then check the fuel systesm, fuel pressure regulator/fuel injector/most likely not the fuel pump....if compression is bad then pour a tea spoon of oil in the cylinder that has low compression, do the compression test on that cylinder again, if the initial low reading goes up then its ur piston rings or ur cylinder wall, if it stays the same then its ur valve seals, valve guid, vlave seat carbon build up, check valve train may need a head job
