SOURCE: Dirt bike with no spark

I dont know how much you know about dirtbikes but you need to check the points. They are located under the fly wheel and they allow the engine to send a spark to the coil pack which then sends it to the spark plug. The fly wheel is under the side case, which is only held by a few screws.Once you get that off,the points,Which are under the fly wheel, just need to be cleaned off with a little sand paper. if that dosent help the spark then check the coil pack. The coil pack is the black box where the spark plug cable wire comes out of. look and see if its melted or broken in any way. If the coil is not ruined then you might need a new spark plug cable.

Your local part store should carry a thread repair kit as it it quite common. Make sure you protect from getting metal shavings inside of the cylinder.

I have an yamaha libero and while riding for sometime the bike stop and again not restarting. why?

Hi Biju:
I would start by checking the basics.
1) confirm batter condition if electric start, oil level
2) Remove spark plug, check condition and spark. Should be hot and blue. If no spark, track down electrical problem. If plug is wet, indicates gas getting into cylinder. If dry, look for fuel delivery problem. Plugged filter? gummed up carb? Water in fuel?

Having trouble starting 2015 KTM 350sx-f. Engine turns but doesn't fire. It's not the battery, but I haven't run it in a couple of months either. Spark plug or ignition issue???

Kick it over a few times and pull the spark plug. If the plug is wet, you have fuel and an ignition problem. If the plug is dry, you have s fuel problem. Report back with a Comment to THIS post.

Ok the truck won't start but fuel pump works so

Check the spark plugs to see if they are worn and need to be replaced. Depending on your specific Sierra model, you either have a six or eight cylinder vehicle. Use the spark plug wrench to remove the spark plugs and check the tips. If they are coated with black carbon deposits or excess fuel, the spark plugs cannot provide proper spark to ignite the fuel and should be replaced. GMC suggests replacing the spark plugs on the Sierra every 100,000 miles.
Check to see if the engine is getting proper compression. To do this, remove the spark plug on the first cylinder and insert a compression gauge. Have someone crank the engine while you take a reading from the gauge. The cylinder should have a compression in the range of 125-160 PSI. Perform the same test on each cylinder and record the readings. The lowest pressure reading should be within 10 percent of the highest one if your engine is working properly. If your readings fall lower than the 125-160 PSI range, or if there is more than a 10 percent drop off between the low and high reading, the most likely cause is a timing belt that needs to be replaced.

Scooter engin has no spark

most scooters and motor bikes have a "kill switch" on the right hand handle bar. This switch you use just before you fall off it so that you can stop the motor without having to turn the key off. Check that it has not been moved to off position.
