Any corrosion or loose connections can cause power loss in the circuit . Have the alternator output tested to make sure also .

It wouldn't make sense of a fusible link in that main cable when power is always needed, there won't be one. In hot or ground cables. I suggest you check the connection at the starter be clean and tight then see if will start. If not, most likely you will need to remove the starter and have it checked. I'd try another solenoid before that, but first try jumping across the solenoid with a jumper cable on the terminal posts with switch on. If it cranks, solenoid is bad.

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.

2003 Ford Ranger 2.3, started fine, cut off suddenly, wont start back up?

Could be several things. Battery connection, starter solenoid, starter, neutral safety switch, ignition switch. First have someone hit the starter while the key is in the start position. If no start, check to see if voltage is at the starter solenoid. Try moving the gear indicator back and forth from P to D with the key in crank position. Make sure the park brake is set. Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. There should be several feed wires coming off the positive post. Make sure all are ok. Some are fusible links and may have burnt.

My 06 impala has full charge but wont start and no power?

1. Check positive/negative battery cables at battery-- no corrosion wanted and tight clamp.

2. check + battery cable at starter and wires at starter solenoid.

3. check - battery cable ground connection point.

4. check main power fuse/fusible link.

tighten and or replace cables.

Most are located right off the starter solenoid lug. Gentle tension will revel a faulty ones muchof the time- the insulation begins to stretch.

Explorer (93 xlt)wont start

Alternator just charges your battery and wont have any direct link to a starter problem. It is very important that starter wires be very snug when replacing the starter. especially the big wires. However it is the little wire that activates the main relay. I don't remember if this car has a remote solenoid or not.
If it has a remote solenoid then the main positive wire from the battery will go to the solenoid mounted on the fire wall or fender and then one big wire will go down to the starter. The start solenoid will have the battery wires hooked to it but also a little wire from the ignition switch. If you dont hear a click then either the ignition switch is bad or the solenoid is bad. Or perhaps the contact from the ignition at the solenoid is bad.

2002 ford explorer wont start even after new battery...

Before you go changing out the starter check for a burnt out fusible link going to the starter it will look like a wire but acts as a fuse and they burn in two just like a fuse. The symptoms you just describe are those of a burnt fusible link.

Seems like at starter problem..

If, when the switch is turned, the starter motor does not operate at all but the solenoid clicks, the problem lies with either the battery, the main solenoid contacts, or the starter motor. If, as you say, the battery is good, and fully charged, that would mean that is was either the solenoid contacts or the starter motor.
If the solenoid plunger cannot be heard (no click), the battery is bad, the fusible link is burned, or the solenoid itself is defective. Once again, if the battery is good, it would be the fusible link, or the solenoid. The fusible link (battery fuse) is in the engine compartment fuse block, fuse number 1, 80A.
If you want to test the circuit, you can run a fairly heavy INSULATED wire between your pos. battery post and the SMALL terminal on the solenoid (just touch the end to the solenoid). If the starter turns, you may have a ignition switch, neutral start switch, or some other wiring problem.
Double check the battery terminals to make sure that you are getting good contact.
Hope this is helpful.
