Most time replace transmission range sensor transmission need to be in neutral position before removing transmission range sensor.sound like transmission range sensor out of adjustment.

What was the codes exactly that Auto Zone gave you.??? it might just be a simple wire harness that may have gone loose since you did some work on the speed sensor.

the hold buttion on the auto is just like a overdrive button on other autos when you press it a orange light will glow saying hold this will stop it from going into 4th this is recommended when you are not doing speeds over 60kph/40mph

For the record: if the sensors they're referring to are the input or output shaft speed sensors, they are very easy to find...just remove the air intake box (where the air filter is) and they're right there on top of the transmission. Input sensor is the one closer to the front of the vehicle, output towards the rear.

it could be caused by a belt slipping, low power steering fluid, or by a problem with the power steering pump itself. check the power steering fluid level, check the belts to see if they are snug and dont have excess play in them, if not sure on how to do it take it to a mechanic to have the belts checked and tightened to spec or replaced. and last of all if none of the above helps, have someone check the power steering pump out.
