For the record: if the sensors they're referring to are the input or output shaft speed sensors, they are very easy to find...just remove the air intake box (where the air filter is) and they're right there on top of the transmission. Input sensor is the one closer to the front of the vehicle, output towards the rear.

SOURCE: 2004 Kia Amanti shakes when steering when vehicle

it could be caused by a belt slipping, low power steering fluid, or by a problem with the power steering pump itself. check the power steering fluid level, check the belts to see if they are snug and dont have excess play in them, if not sure on how to do it take it to a mechanic to have the belts checked and tightened to spec or replaced. and last of all if none of the above helps, have someone check the power steering pump out.

2011 Kia Sportage and when in reverse it continuously beeps until put into drive. I tried to wipe the sensors on the bumper but its still doing it. What can I do to fix this?

Maybe you can't. That is probably not a fault and nothing to do with the parking sensors. Many vehicles have a safety feature to alert anyone behind you that you are reversing. It operates from a switch when you select reverse gear. There have been tragic tales of children and adults run over on home driveways. The beep alarm helps to prevent these accidents. This scenario applies if it is louder outside the vehicle than it is inside the vehicle. If the beeping is inside only, there is indeed a fault. The only way to find which sensors is faulty is to have an auto electrician connect a pro grade scan tool computer and check the parking sensors.

How do i trouble shoot automatic transmission that shifts from park to reverse with the gear shift but the car will not move?

Sounds like the shift cable is off the transmission under the hood. Raise the hood and check to see if the cable is moving the linkage going into the transmission when the shift lever is moved in the car. Be sure to have park brake on.

2001 kia sportage . transmission does not change

Popular Problems Checks
1. Car will not go into gear:
  • Gear selector cable has failed
  • Brake lock solenoid/brake light swtich has failed not allowing the gear selector to move out of "Park"
  • Excessively low transmission fluid (note: if car is operated for an extended amount of time with low fluid level the transmission will fail prematurely)
  • Shorted electrical component not allowing the PCM to control the transmission. Example: shorted fuse
  • Flex plate (flywheel) is broken completely not transferring engine power to the transmission.
2. Car goes into gear but then fades out of gear or is slipping while driving:
  • Transmission fluid is low
  • Transmission clutch discs or bands are worn out or burned
  • Faulty transmission shift solenoid.
3. Car goes into gear but does not shift out of first:
  • Blown fuse to the PCM controller
  • Faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
  • Shorted second gear control solenoid
  • Faulty transmission controller (PCM)

Shifting problems

I think you are saying the vehicle pulls forward,no matter what gear you put the shifter in?If this is the case, there is a problem with the forward clutch.I've seen this one over and over in many different transmissions and vehicles. The forward clutch pack is always applied whenever the vehicle is moving forward. It is never applied in reverse,or neutral. So,the forward clutch pack loses clearance from normal wear and tear,or a seal in the pack goes bad,and the clutches start slipping....and slipping........still slipping.....until they get SO hot,the clutch plates and steel plates fuse together, are welded together. This is why your Millenia is going forward in reverse and neutral. It's either that or you have a problem with the shifter cable,or linkage, and you didn't mention anything about the detents,or not being able to obtain Park,so i assume all that is ok
