SOURCE: 2002 intrigue\r\n I hear a louder whining noise

it could be your alternator is over charging, the voltage regulator is faulty you need to check the voltage input in the battery when the engine is running it should be between 13.8 & 14.5 volts, the power steering belt would'nt slip unless you were moving the steering wheel, it could be any one of the problems that you have mentioned.....hope this helps.....cheers

SOURCE: 94 olds Cutlass ciera my gas mileage is bad,

Check exhaust for leaks get a good tune up if you have not had one in a while your distributor cap and rotor button new plug wires new plugs if you are crafty you could do this your self the shop calls that a major tune up and charge any were between 200 to 300 dollars. Most people buy the parts and i do them labor only for 75 dollars. And the parts are around 70 dollars so that is half price. If you want look on craigslist and try to find someone on there they don't have to be a rocket scientist any shade tree mechanic can handle it.

2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT AWD OBD2 codes: c0040, c0045, c0050, c0283, c0240, c0228, c0229 & p1516? I think the transmission is tryin2 over heat & a whining noise gets louder when accelerate? Help???

The whining noise is probably the transmission fluid pump going bad , without hearing it that would be just a guess . P1516 is a throttle position out of range condition . All the other codes have to do with traction control an antilock brakes .

Saturn making a whining noise that gets louder when you press on the accelerator

Sounds like a bearing is on its way out in the drive belt system, could be the alternator, idlers, a/c if fitted, water pump.

Disconnect drive belt and spin all pulleys, and you will feel if one is loose, tight or making a noise it shouldn't.

Miata whines only when accelerating

Have you tried to narrow the noise location. is it comming from the transmision safety plate? is it comming from the belts, or a pully? Have someone litely step on the gas and try to reproduce the noise while not in gear. If possible locate the noise, or narow it down to some sort of location. There are just to many variables to say what it is at this point.

Let net me know once you get more info
