SOURCE: I HAVE 02 TRAILBLAZER LTZ, AND IT JUST STARTED

Hello, I see you have a trailblaber with a knocking noise. It sounds like you have an electric fan clutch issue. Believe it or not your vehicle has an electric fan clutch. It looks just like the older non-electric but if you look on the driver side of the fan shroud that is the wire connector you see. It is an exspensive part just for the clutch but thats exactly what you are describing. It doesn't get louder just fast with rpms. Please rate my answer, Thank you

SOURCE: 2003 trailblzer head light bulb replacement

on a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, you have to remove the grill to access the back of the head lights. It takes a good pull (don't be afraid to use a little force). Pop the hood and there 4 metal pieces that slide up and several plastic pieces that pop up. You will see the lips on the metal slides (about an inch in width) and you pull those up to loosen the grill. There are 2 of these slides (one on each far side, almost hidden) that are hard to get your hand into that you might need a screwdriver or something for leverage to slide them up. Then pop up the plastic pieces holding the headlamps in place and with a little force pull the grill off.
Then you can access the back side of the headlamps to replace the bulbs.

Engine knocking/service engine light

take the stick from the dog, then touch the alternator, power steering pump, the a/c compressor, the A.I.R. pump if you have 1. they can cause the noise also.
if the fan has a clutch with engine off see if there is any play in the clutch. can test all devices with a pulley
pull off valve covers to see if a rocker arm has become detached.
go under vehicle with engine running to eliminate transmission noise.
last is to remove .oil pan and check bearings. on some older models with mechanical fuel pump.it could also cause noise.

Knocking when engine gets hot and car stopped

The fan clutch can make a knocking noise when it tries to engage. At idle it will have a rhythm to it when it tries to engage. You will have an over heating condition and the air conditioning may not work properly.

The fix is to replace the fan clutch and reprogram the engine control module.

2003 trailblazer makes winding noise when i accelerate.

it has to do with the clutch on the cooling fan. I have had to have mine fixed at about 50 k and it is acting up again at 87k. This tends to go away on mine as the engine heats up.
