There could be several reasons for the problem. The first is the plug is off the sensor, thus no reading. Second the sensor itself has gone bad. Buy a new one and replace it, they are not too expensive. The guage in the dash has gone bad (big pain, buy aftermarket unit and install) and forth the ECM has decided to go bad on that particular guage (very expensive to replace). Have a shop put a trouble code reader on the truck and see what it says the problem is and go from there. You can check the wire to the sensor yourself. Also follow the wiring back from the sensor and make sure there isn't another plug that is not all the way plugged in. A lot of times when the vehicle is worked on and a plug is disconnected and put back together one of the pins in the plug will slide back and not go into the plug, thus causing a problem. P0520 is low oil pressure and all the rest are codes generated by air pressure irregularities within the turbo and air intake pressure.

There is no code 52 but you might mean is P0520. or just 520. This indicates your oil pressure sensor / switch circuit is malfunctioning. It's not something that's urgent but will adversely affect your gas mileage. I would replace it as soon as you can. It's a $40. part. Good luck! Karl

Possible causes
- Low oil level or motor mechanical fault
- Faulty oil pressure sensor
- Oil Pressure Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Oil Pressure Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

When is the code detected?
The P0521 is detected when the signal sent from oil pressure sensor to PCM goes out of range.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Oil pressure warning light ON.
P0521 Chevrolet Description
The PCM continuously monitors the engine oil pressure. The Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch sends a signal to the PCM when the engine is running.

Connect a jumper wire between the (K900) Sensor Ground circuit and the (G6) Engine Oil Pressure Signal circuit.NOTE: Engine Oil Pressure voltage should change from approximately 4.5 volts to less than 0.5 of a volt.Is the voltage reading within the listed specification when the jumper wire is installed?YesReplace the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor.

Good afternoon, I need to know where the engine oil pressure sensor/switch A circuit is located on a 2005 Chrysler 300C please. Manufacturer code is P1521...part code is P0520


You will have to remove the alternator to get to it I'm pretty sure. There should be 3 bolts holding the alternator in place. There is 1 you can see up top, and 2 under the alternator, all 15MM size.

But once those are broke lose and off, just swing the alternator out of the way(with belt off of course) and use a 1 1/16" Socket for the Oil Pressure Sending Unit.

After that, it is easy, it all goes on like it came off

Getting code P0520 engine speed sensor. How do you replace this. ABS light, brake light. check engine light on. Speedometer does not work


the engine speed sensor is located just above the oil pan at the rear of the engine. it is held in by one screw. For your abs issue see www.saabservices.com and look for abs light link. They can help you with those problems.
