yes... you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can access the bolts holding the mirror on and disconnect the wiring harness as well..

Are there any other possible problems, or you are just not receiving spark at all now?
The coilpack could be dead and just need replaced. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check the wiring on both sides of the coilpack harness to make sure it is receiving power.
I don't believe Subaru used ignitors past '99, but if they did, your should be located on the firewall behind the throttle body. Make sure it's plugged in and receiving power.
Coil packs do go bad from time to time. I had to replace mine in my
'98 Impreza a while back.

Obtain all keys/remote controls. Remove driver's side kick panel/lower 'A' pillar trim. Connect central locking registration connectors (white) - black wire and black/blue wire Fig. 2 . Unlock the vehicle using the key. Program first key/remote control as follows: Press unlock button Fig. 1 , then lock button . The door lock should lock and unlock in sequence confirming programming of first key/remote control. Repeat programming procedure for remaining key(s)/remote control(s). Once the last key/remote control is programmed disconnect central locking registration connectors. Check operation of all programmed keys/remote controls.
