How do you replace battery in Oldsmobile ciera cutlas 1999

Undo the straps securing the battery.

The complicated bit. To save problems with cutting power to your radio and the ECM, you need to maintain power as you change the batteries over. Place the new battery on the side of the engine bay, in the right attitude to drop it into place. Take two pieces of insulated wire and twist it around the bottom of the terminals on the new battery, and the other end to the clamps on the old battery.

Remove the clamps on the old battery, and place it on the other side of the engine bay. Put the new battery into place. Put the clamps onto the new battery and slide them down. Tighten them loosely. Remove the wires from the bottom of the terminal and tap the clamps down and fully tighten.

Replace the holding strap.

92 FORD EXPLORER I HAVE CHANGED THE PLUGS AND WIRES AND IT STILL DOES NOT WANT TO CRANK AND WHEN DOES IT BACKFIRES

are you sure the plug wires are in the right place?you may have missed putting them back on right. or is this the reason you replaced them in the 1st place? is this the reason for replacement wires and plugs?i'm not sure where to start, unless i know it was a tune up with no problems other than a miss or just not running right.as always i replace 1 plug and 1 wire at a time. you may have mixed the wires up or the wires on the coil. start from scratch with a timing order and placement of the wires. hope this helps and if you need the timing and placement of cylinders i will be happy to help!! thank you for choosing fixya.com

Need help with installing a new starter on my 91 olds cutlass ceria

You need to put the rear of the starter up,push the starter in around the exhaust and then bring the nose cone down into the opening in the flywheel housing,it will take some jigging around but you will eventually find the right combination, then put the wires back in place and put the housing bolts back in.

I just change the plugs and placed the wires where the old ones were. It runs bad and is sluggish. Now I wish I didn't change the plugs

Be certain the plugs are correct units with the proper gaps, also be certain the plug wires are fully in contact with the spark plugs. There should be a slight "snap" as the wire goes on to the plug. Also be ceratin the wires are in to the distributor too. And always check what spark plug wire goes where. This is an easy mistake to make even when we give it our full attention.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
