Question about Ford F-150

Open Question

2000 F150 has no brake lights, turn signal, hazards, power windows, cruise control, or radio. The odometer comes on when I start it and goes off after about 10 minutes. All these things went out at the same time. It had a breathalyzer installrd when I bought it and had a Sheriff, who has installed/removed them before remove it. I checked the 3 wires that where spliced back together & colors match and connections are good. No blown fuses or bad relays. The trucks runs fine. I think it may be thr GEM module or computer, but with both being so expensive I dont want to resort to replacing either if it may be something minor that I dont know about.

Not interior power, brake lights not working, and wont shift out of park

You didn't say if it would start. If it will not start, it is a dead battery.

Transmission speed sensor

You could have a faulty speedometer/odometer combination meter causing a false Vehicle Speed Sensor error.
My 1998 Sienna had the following symptoms:
- Speedometer and odometer failed intermittently
- The check engine light would come on and I would get a p0500 code in the OBDII.
- The cruise control would stop working at the same time the speedometer failed.
There is a speed sensor in each one of the tires and they feed the speed information to the ABS ECU. From the ABS ECU the speed signal goes to the speedometer/odometer combination meter, and from there it goes to the Engine Control Module and to the Cruise Control ECU. I could see a signal coming into the speedometer/odometer, but no signal going out. Replacing the speedometer/odometer combination meter fixed the problem.

Back brake light stay on, replaced brake switch same problem.Truck has over drive and cruies control If you take switch out of circuit the brake lights stay on the same with the turn/hazard flasher.

Your brake lights and your turn signals go through the multifunction (turn signal) switch. It is common for these switches to short internally. Partial disassembly of the steering column is required to replace it. The airbag stsyem must be disabled, then the airbag removed from the steering wheel. Then the steering wheel must be removed to access the screw in the front of the switch assembly. The rest is pretty easy... a few screws holing the lower cover of the dash, the shroud around the steering column and a few connectors to deal with. (see pictures of switch assembly below)
There are two types of these switches available for 2000 S-10. With cruise control and without cruise control. The one WITHOUT cruise control is much more expensive!

I have a 2000 Pontiac grand Prix GT, I have a problem which GM is aware of. No brake light, third light works in rear window. Bulbs are ok, Fuses are ok. Help

If your third brake light is working then the fuse, and brake switch are ok (it powers up all brake lights). The most likely cause is the column mounted multi-function switch, it consists of the turn signal, hazard and brake light controls, on the right side of steering wheel. You can check at the base of the column. There is a large black three-piece connector there that all the ignition, starter, lights, horn, cruise control and wipers all go thru. With the brake pedal depressed there should be power on the white wire (its on one of the end connectors terminal 1, very first wire, and should have pink wire directly beside it). If power is good, then check for power on the opposite side connector dark green wire terminal 6, and yellow wire terminal 7 (there are near the center directly beside each other). If no power on either (green or yellow) then the multi-function switch is at fault. If power is present on both, then the rear signals must also be out, and you'll have an open connector going to the rear lights.

Mustang brake lights dont work

this car has a brake light switch on the pedal check for power in and out. if in and not out change switch. also I believe their is a relay under the hood . then check to see if the multifunction and hazard switch control brake lights i cant remember if they do like gm's but i am also almost sure they do the multifunction is your turn signal wiper arm that goes into steering wheel . after you check the brake switch and relay have some one jiggle the hazard and multi while pressing the brakes see if they come on. you can call ford and ask them about the multi and hazard .
