1999 Audi A4 automatic transmission on 4wd and 2.8 liter.

The car will shift from park to reverse and to only in 3rd gear of drive.

Triptronic does not work. All positions highlighted in infopanel.

How do I reset the transmission module? Is this a dealer thing?

There is a connector underneath of the gearbox, if its not connected it wont change at all. You need to connect that plug and reset using VCDS

99 audi a4 1.9td automatic wont go into top gear

This is an electronic transmission and may have an electrical problem Can\'t tell without more info. However, it will not go into top gear if you are pressing hard on the throttle. try going at highway speed and letting off the throttle It should shift into high gear. If it does not, it is dealer time.

It sounds like your transmission needs a rebuild. It could also be a loose linkage, or low transmission fluid. Check both of those first.

My name is Marian ,from Constanta ,Romania . I have an 2006 audi a4 (64000km), with automatic transmission tiptronic type, it is working in normal condition , and please ,I need to know if it is...

audi claims that it is lifetime ATF so it does not need changing however there is thousands of moving parts inside the transmission and particles build up in the filter which could cause problems i would recommend changing it every 30K to 60k miles along with a new filter.

Tiptronic automatic gear box

At the bottom of the automatic gearbox (tiptronic) you will find 2 threaded plugs on below surface. First (in front of the car) is for emptying, and second is for filling up. Tightening torque is 24 Nm. Please Rate my Response! Thanks!

Audi a4 autotransmission change fluid

The automatic cars (at least the tiptronics, which came out in 98) require the transmission to be up to a specific temperature, which must be monitored while changing the fluid - this requires VagCom, the VW/Audi diagnostic software (I'm not making this up). I am not sure whether the non-tiptronic cars had to have this as well or if it can be done as any other transmission - best bet is to call a European specialty mechanic and ask them - a dealer will kill you with labor rates. Do not just drain and refill though, without finding out first whether the VagCom procedure must be used.
