Question about Nissan Murano

Open Question

My power windows in '02 Maxima roll down by themselves when car is off. How do I fix this?

I've already checked no water damage to either Key FOB or interoir controls. and no the unlock button on my key fob isn't stuck. I am aware that if you hold the unlock button the front two windows roll down. Currently my windows are closed, as I had car running, i opened both front doors then I shut my car off, pulled key out of igination hit lock button and closed both doors and both windows are still up, it's been 3 hours (fingers crossed it was a glitch). Anyone else having these issues?

SOURCE: 2003 Jetta TDI - Door locks open fuel door

Look for a short in the wiring harness in the door. The wires from the door lead to the convenience module (controls the doors and windows and some other settings including remote fob) that is under the dash. It sounds like some wires are crossed. VWs are also notorious for having problems with window regulators. They make the windows go up and down and are in the doors. Something might have happen to that and it cause a short. VW just extended the warranty on the window regulators to seven years because of these problems so you should be able to take it to a dealer and not get charged (this is in the U.S. at least, don't know about the rest of the world). The extended warrranty was not limited to original owners but you might want to ask the service people about it first.

SOURCE: my Porsche Key fob no longer unlocks the doors

Insert key into door barrel or ignition lock and turn key, whilst doing this press the unlock/lock button, the led on the dash should flash to indicate this has initialised the key to the car, then remove key and test operation of remote. If this fails then a new remote plus coding to the car by your dealership is needed

I have an 04 Nissan Maxima. My front windows roll down by themselves and the doors will unlock. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi,

Sounds like your main window/door switch is malfunctioning.

The switch has an electronic circuit with integrated circuit chip(IC), it might have been damage, due to rain or vibration.

You have to bring your car to the nearest Nissan dealer to check on that main switch.

You could try to check it by yourself, there might e something short circuiting the IC, that makes all the switches works without pushing any of them.

Hope that helps out!

You need a body control computer, which controls the windows, door locks and other items. The new computer will have to be programed by a good imports shop or Nissan dealer.

2003 maxima windows go down

when you unlock your vehicle with a key fob and hold the button on these models the windows roll down it is possible that your fob might be faulty, remove battery from fob for that night and see if there is any change, receiver inside vehicle may have internal failure, it is not likely that master switch has anything to do with it since it has no power supply with key removed.
