SOURCE: 2004 4.2 ltr envoy power steering stopped working - no leaking

Most likely the power steering pump is your problem. It sounds like the shaft inside the pump has broken and it is not pumping fluid. I would install a new pump and see what happens. The other option would be the rack and pinion (steering gear). The power steering pump is the cheaper of the two and usually the problem. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: power steering

Probably not just follow the lines from the pump to the rack. If there is one it will be towards the grill area either to the side or in front of the radiator.

Why would any car have a power steering cooler?
It could never get very hot, and it would not matter if it did.

I have 2004 gmc envoy my power steering became hard so i took it to the shop they have replaced pump and rack and pinion and still had to steer. what else could it be

This may be a long shot but if you are sure the new parts are not defective than I would try separating the outer tie rods from the knuckles and see how hart it is to turn the wheels back and forth by hand.

My 2004 GMC Envoy XUV was squeeling then I felt the pressure in the steering wheel and now turning the wheel is like a power workout at the gym. Can I change the power steering myself?

Sounds like the power steering pump has seized up. The question of whether you can change it yourself depends on your abilities and knowledge of auto mechanics, and having the necessary tools.

Why does the powersteering not work on my 03 envoy, it has enough fluid.

With the engine running, check to see if the belt is turning the power steering pump. If it looks good than you probably have a bad power steering pump.

I was pulling into parking lot and 2004 gmc envoy started to go into donut spin and then all of a sudden power steering went no leaks or belts are brokenwhat could it be

possibly check your steering components. a broken component would cause such sudden loss of control resulting in a spin out
