Where is the rev counter wire connection on Toyota 13B Land Cruiser engine, Engine same as 3B?

This is a 1985 Diahatsu Delta Truck Motor Home. Trying to find the engine connection on the engine as the rev counter is intermittently playing up.

It is connected to the negative coil lead, either at the coil or in the distributor wiring harness.

A large rubber hose feeds air to the large block with "RE-EGI" cast into it. Between that intake hose and the RE-EGI block, called the dynamic chamber, is the throttle valve. You can adjust the idle speed by adjusting a screw in the top of the throttle valve to 800 rpm.

dont worry about that you will have to turn the motor over 40 to 50 time before those timing belt marks line up again if your pulley marks line up correctly thats all you have to worry about

I suggest check in this link the Workshop Manual and Repair Manual engine B-3B, 11B-13B and 13B-T Toyota in English (free register). These engines are mounted on Toyota Land Cruiser models, Dyna and Coaster. It is valid for models BJ60, 70, 71, 73, 74, 75 series, BU60, 61, 62, 63, 65, 70, 75, 76, 80, 81, 82, 85, 86, BY33, 42 series, BB20 , 22, 30 series.

Ok well my mate has a toyota land cruiser 1985 model he has done some modifications to it. for some reason when he turns his lights on it turns on his high beams and his normal lights dont work i was just...


just replaced engine out of hj 75 86 with 2h out of 81 hj 60 swapped inlet manifold of worn out engine onto earlier motor now when turn it to glow the wire that sits between the glow plug resister starts to smoke anyone got any ideas

Oil choice


I would consult your local dealer or owners manual for the proper oil. The oil must be diesel rated and have the proper viscosity so that the bearings are lubricated as well as the piston skirts. If you live in a colder climate, a thinner grade of oil may be needed as to a summer grade.

Repelce fuel filter, check is there any fuel leak,
also check heater plugs,
if all that ok check injectors and injection fuel.
check how is engine compresion.
