Question about 2001 Ford Crown Victoria
You might check the connection at the linkage on the transmission,
and see if you have a loose connection. It sounds like that is your issue. You
might have a cable stretch issue (rare), or a shifter lever pivot pin issue. My
first guess though would be to check the linkage at the transmission.
