You may have a bad pinon bearing in the differential -- that's where the drive-shaft attaches to.If that's the case a good used tansaxle will be cheaper.
Is there a whining noise when driving.
Also check all moter mounts make sure they are not torn / broken hence throughing the shaft to pinnon alignment off.

THOSE TRANNYS ARE A DIME A DOZEN.I WOULD JUST GET A USED ONE FOR 250 TO 400 BUCKS.SAVE YOUR SELF THE GRIEF.IF YOU ARE ASKING FOR DIAGRAMS TO REBUILD IT,YOU MIGHT BE OUT OF YOU LEAGUE ON REBIULDING IT.SPECIAL TOOLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS,AND A REALY CLEAN WORKING ENVIROMENT.
SOURCE: rear axle seals leaking
If the axle had a slight grouve in it,you would see or feel it
If you distort the seal on install, you would be aware of that
I would try a different brand seal & install not quite as far
in the housing, until it seats, then you will be using a different
surface on the axle
If the seal leaks on the outside of the metal shell, you need
permatex #2 or similar product, if the seal isn't rubber coated
