SOURCE: leaking axle seal on 2003 caravan

You may have a bad pinon bearing in the differential -- that's where the drive-shaft attaches to.If that's the case a good used tansaxle will be cheaper.
Is there a whining noise when driving.
Also check all moter mounts make sure they are not torn / broken hence throughing the shaft to pinnon alignment off.

SOURCE: rear axle seals leaking

If the axle had a slight grouve in it,you would see or feel it

If you distort the seal on install, you would be aware of that

I would try a different brand seal & install not quite as far
in the housing, until it seats, then you will be using a different
surface on the axle

If the seal leaks on the outside of the metal shell, you need
permatex #2 or similar product, if the seal isn't rubber coated

How to front trans axle seal 1998 Monte Carlo

you have to pull the half shaft out on the side the seal is leaking then pop out the seal and install new seal. this means r&r the wheel, brake, separate the lower ball joint, remove the half shaft axle nut, remove the half shaft from the spindle and pull out half shaft from trans. install in reverse order.

2002 chavy astro new alt, good bat, good fusible link still no charge

I take it that you have put all the wires on to the back of the alternator. The bolt on one and the connection one.. Is the belt properly tensioned. If yes to all have an auto electrician look at the problem as it may be a faulty alternator.

97 chevy astro awd front half axle leeks at diferential

There is usually a SEAL where the axle is connected/inserted into the transmission/differential.

The part is cheap <$20, but labor will be over $100.

How to change seal in transaxle

I assume you mean the half axle seals. I can give you the main outline, I've not worked on Sorentos
  • Drain the transaxle fluid
  • Raise the front of the car and support it under the chassis and do this for each side:
    • Remove the front wheels
    • Disconnect the brake unit (not the line) from the rotor assembly
    • Remove the screw holding the axle to the rotor assembly
    • Remove the tie rod and lower ball joint to the rotor assembly
  • You should be able to remove the axle tip from the rotor assembly. There usually is a pin holding the axle half to the transaxle. Remove it and pull the axle half out.
  • Remove the seal.
I hope this will help.

2002 gmc 3/4 tom 2 wheel rear axle seal replacement, free floater , how do remove the axles ?

got me here but if this is like a astro van then you have take the plate off the back of the diff and inside you will see the crownwheel ,now where the suns and planets are their is a 10mm bolt head ,take this bolt out and then the planet wheels support shaft comes out ,once this is out remove the planet gears and then you will see the end of the half shaft on which is U shaped retaining clip just slide it out ,you will still no doubt need a puller to remove the half shaft or turn wheel opposite way around and place a plank against it and hit with a 7kg hammer as this will often do it for you ,the new seal comes with bearing as a complete unit .this is the procedure for a astro van but i think it may be the same axles on this and your vehicle

How do I change front axle seals on a 2005 chevy 4x4 truck

remove the cv axle from the side you are changing. then on the parrengers side unbolt the housing from the frame and unbolt the housing extension tube from the rest of the housing. the bearrings and seal should be there ready for removal. on the drivers side hook your slide hammer to the axle flange and beat the #$@% out of it. tryy not to pry on the housing it is easy to break. good luck my dad has a 8 lb slide and he has been sliding away for over an hour with no luck, he is ready to pull the housing split it in half and press it out. hope this helps.
