Is the radiator electric fan working?
It might be that any hard wired fan, which is designed to work, even with the ignition off is faulty and draining the battery.
Please check operation of fan and relay.

Have you had a pressure test done on the system yet to check for any leaks? You must also check the condition of the radiator cap. If no leaks present, then check coolant flow rate through the vehicle's radiator and the condition and operation of the thermostat. As a separate test, you must perform a parasitic drain test on the vehicle by connecting an ammeter in series between the battery's positive terminal and the positive lead, with the engine and all systems off. Please record the number of amps being consumed when the vehicle is completely at rest. Also turn off any alarm system. You should be looking for a reading around 0.03 amps. Much above that and you have a parasitic amp draw. At that point you will have to start removing fuses one by one until the draw drops to around the earlier figure. Start with the stereo fuse, and then disconnect any alarm system, as these are the two most common causes, then work your way through the other systems until you find the circuit which is causing any large drain. If you already have an amp drain of around just 0.03 amps, then you are likely looking at the simple failure of the vehicle's battery.

SOURCE: smelled rubbery smell, saw smoke, after that saw fluid under car. Then the car would engage but only go 5 miles an hour for a few minutes at a time

sounds like you burned up a seal check to see if you have oil in the engine and also check the trans oil level

How do I use a battery charger to charge my dead battery on a 2001 camaro

The red clamp on the charger goes to the + sign on the battery. The black goes to the -. I you want a deep charge(best) set the charger on 2 amps and run it for 8 to 12 hours. If you need to get the car started, set the charger on 225 amps for just a couple of minutes. Start the car while it is on..2 amps can charge forever. 20 amps for 30 minutes. 30 to 40 amps for 15 minutes. 225 amps for five minutes..DO NOT charge 20+ amps for hours. It will kill the battery

If i keep the negitive connecter on the battery it will go dead in a hour there is not a wire hooked up on the alternator but i dont know where it might go?

Even with the wire removed, are you saying it goes dead while driving or just sitting . if it goes dead wile driving then the alternator may not be charging the battery as you drive but if it goes dead while the car sits then there is a draw some where.
if you sent me the year make and model with the engine size and also let me know when it goes dead in 1 hour, while driving or car just sitting and i will help you solve the problem. good day

That symbol means low voltage in the system, you have a dead or defective battery. These new sealed batteries can go out of the blue, starts fine and then a few minutes or hours later nothing, no crank no start. You can confirm the battery is the problem by honking the horn, it will dribble out a noise or not work at all if the battery is dead or nearly dead.

Most likely you have something draining the battery. Quick way to tell, disconnect the ground (negative) cable to the battery, let it sit for a few hours, then reconnect it and try to start it. If it starts OK, you know the battery is holding a charge, but something is draining it.
To drain it in just a few hours requires a serious draw, like headlights or the cooling fan. It is possible that your cooling fan (behind the radiator) is staying on all the time. Often they are controlled by a thermostat, and will run for a few minutes after you shut off the engine, but it should shut off within about five minutes. If it is still running after ten or more minutes, you have a bad fan thermostat or a bad fan relay. If that is not the problem, you will have to get someone with an ammeter to measure the current draw, and start pulling fuses until you find the culprit.

My battery is dead and when i open the door i hear a clicking sound in the dash and noise coming out of seatbelt. i charged the battery then it goes dead in a hour and clicking noise comes back

the first thing to check is your battery cables to see if there is any corrosion on them. then i would have the alternator tested to see if it is bad, that will kill the battery as quick as just a few minutes. also have your battery tested to make sure there is not a bad cell in it.

It doesn't have a short. Shorts blow fuses. It has high parasitic drain. On a cad it might be hard to find but not impossible. Do you own an ammeter?

Replace your battery when its being tested there not testing it under a heavy enough load. A battery could have a dead cell in it and still show good on the charger. I've had that problem a few times.
