SOURCE: Replace thermostat in 2000 ford ranger

the open pipe that you took the hose off of is the thermostat housing, you will need to remove this to reveal the thermostat, make sure you use a new gasket with sealant when reinstalling thermostat housing to prevent leaks and dont over tighten the bolts, run both bolts down as far as you can before final tightning

SOURCE: where is the ignition module control located on 1996 ranger 2.3 e

It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.

Need to reset ABS light on 1996 Ford Ranger

Maybe you have a bad speed sensor, its a shot in the dark but that sensor controls a lot of functions like the ABS, speedometer, check engine light can come on, automatics will shift hard or may not shift at all, o/d will flash. The video below shows a 1999 ford ranger automatic but if you check you might have the same sensor.

Will a 87 ford ranger v6 4 wheel drive trans. fit in a 86 ford ranger 4 cyl 4 wheel drive

If automatic transmission wont work engine block's are not the same, if stander transmission you could swap out bell housing held on with four bolt's from one to the other. Good luck and hope this was very helpful.

1997 ford ranger cam shaft position sensor

If you have the 3.0 L or 4.0 L V6 engine, the cam position sensor is located on the top rear of the engine. If you have the 2.3 L 4 cyl. engine, you will find it on the left front of the engine behind the oil pump pulley.

91 Ford Ranger 4 cyl 5 speed. Can`t find clutch slave cyl. bleeder. Internal slave. Hard at times to get into 1st and rev. Also can`t find connector to hook up tester for check engine light on.

first the bleeder will be located on the cylinder that is mounted on the transmission to engine connection by the bell housing. Second the port for this is located along the drivers side under the hood either by the fire wall or along the top of wheel well it will be marked with a grey cap labled EEC.
