Yes but conection between coil annd spark must hane 5 kiloohms as impedance.. also as a secret,, the spark must hahe a5 kiloohms impedance yo u must use a digital multimeter to fix and chec that, not when engine run or contact is on

SOURCE: '97 A4 1.8T, coolant leak resulted in brief overheat,leak fixed,diag.code now shows #2 cyl.missing (badly), compression good,injectors good,coils/plugs good,missing badly,could the brief overheat have

did the car over heat for long?
there could possibly be damage to your head like warping due to overheating and blowing a head gasket or something along those lines .
first check the oil dipstick is it milky?
then check the coolant is it oily?
and when it is running is it blowing any white smoke?
if you replaced the plugs and it is misfiring did you plug the wire all the way back on the plugs if not then the problem is a plug wire being loose and loosing connection with the plug.
sounds like a simple fix if you don't have water in your oil or white smoke coming out the exhaust.
troubleshooting it can be a bigger job but if you nail the right symptoms down you can corner the problem.
like if it is a coil pack or bad wire switch them with another one and see if the problem follows the wire or coil pack.for instance take the number one plug wire off and the number two wire off and put the number one wire on number two and see if the number one misfires. if so then the wire is the problem if not then try numbers three and four until you find out which cylinder is the culprit.
good luck and happy hunting.

Motor melted no3 cylinder. replaced piston and rings. assembled and no3 cyl. has no fire. other 5 cyl. are good. replaced coil no change. what next?

Without all the information on what year, make, model and engine. And without more facts and a better description. My advise is to check it this way. Do I have compression the same or within twenty pounds of the other cylinders. If no fix compression problem. I don't know if its coil over plug or what type ignition but you need good spark plugs and secondary ignition for that cylinder to make it fire and contribute like the other cylinders. If thats good then check for fuel problem, bad injector or electrical control to injector. There are other variables but I would start with that and if you need further help repost. Good luck

if you have spark at the plug on #2 then check the injector for voltage and ground you may have a bad injector or plugged or dirty injector. it could also be a vacuum leak at the intake were it meets the head at cyl#2.

1999 saturn SL2 - #2 cyl missfires - coil,wires,plug are good- bad injector?

could be, but...
make sure you have good spark, compare with another cylinder.
You can use a noid light to see if the injector(s) are getting the electrical signal to "fire" fuel.
You can run a compression test on all cylinders to see if mechanically they are all sound.
What I do, is swap injector #2 to another cylinder and see if the condition follows.

Miss fire cylinder #2

No 2 cylinder not firing ???????????????????????
if that is what you are saying then its something like this------------Either Plug no good/compression down below 100PSI or Valve burnt out/Plug lead broken or shorting/coil pack shorting/ Air leak No 2 cyl/Injector not working on No 2 cyl.,.,.,You can check all the above items and let me know what the correct problem is,, and we can work on it further Ron

Misfire on number 2 cyl

Cylinders are numbered from front to rear (grille to firewall) passenger side: 1-2-3, driver's side: 4-5-6. Firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6
Did you check by pulling #2 out while the engine is in idle to see no weakness from the engine? BTW your coil pack cost $80.

Not firing right on no.4

First check plug and make sure the right plug for this vehicle, make sure that the heat rating for this plug is correct. Your problem could be a wrong heat rating plug been installed. Also make sure that the misfire is due to a bad plug and NOT a bad injector or injector wiring or uneven compression or even bad coil. Check injector wiring and make sure it not shorting or broken. To check injector pulse use a NOID light can be bought at almost any auto parts store like Auto-zone etc. Also compression can be checked with compression guage. A rule of thumb to go by is if any cylinder has more than 10 PSI in difference in compression there is a problem like a burnt valv etc. Here is a n example cyl# 1 170psi cyl#2 176 psi cyl#172psi cyl# 4 150 psi, there is a problem with cylinder # 4 and will cause a miss from cylinder #4. Good luck and thank for using FIX YA

Dead cylinders 2003 sebring

it sounds like you may have the wires on the wrong coil. It should be #1 on the #4 coil, and the #3 wire on the #2 coil. you probably have them backwards so 1 and 3 are firing on the exhaust stroke.
the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
they should be hooked like this.

Problem with fireing order on suzuki 1.3 w/coils pack

cannot be specific, had a 98 (now a 99). remember they fire twice- compression and exhaust. if you don't get and answer soon, look up firing order and everyother one should fire together, limiting combinations to two. It doesn't care what stroke it is on
