I have a 2009 ford focus 2.0 with a etb scanner says throttle stuck closed AND throttle stuck wide open, accel pedal completely inop.

You will probably need tor replace the throttle position sensor....TPS... You can check and make sure the wiring is connected...Easy to find it is located on the side of your throttle body...usually on the right hand side, or toward the front of the car on your engine....

How to start floded engine 1998 ford f150 truck 4.2 engine

The (TPS) throttle position sensor realizes there is a flooded condition when the operator presses the pedal to the (WOT) wide open throttle position. However, the usual cause is a bad TPS. Replace the TPS, not a difficult job two screws and an electrical plug.

I change the distribuator cap, rotor, and spark plug wires on my 1983 ford ranger 2.3 engine now when its warm the engine runs wide open can you tell me why it does that?

you may have a leak in the intake manifold which is acting like the throttle being open-look for a crack or loose bolts on the manifold to the head- cheers Denny

Wide open as in wide open throttle?? You mean the engine is racing? Something is wrong with the throttle controls, or the throttle valve in the carburetor may be sticking open. Look down the carb throat. At its base will be the throttle valves-"butterfly" valves just like the choke valve on top of carb. The throttle valve should be closed at rest, or at idle, or when gas pedal is not moved. Rotate the throttle lever on the carburetor by hand (when gas pedal is pressed down, the throttle is rotated). The throttle valve at the bottom of the carb should open and close with the throttle lever.
If the valve is sticking, spray some carburetor cleaner down it, and spray the outside clean, too. Work the throttle back and forth to make sure it is free to move.
For a high idle, have the carburetor adjusted. Timing should be checked, too-that can cause a high idle, but wouldn't cause it to go wide open.
Let us know what you find. Good luck.

Idle hunting

You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try eliminating any vacuum leaks and cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

Ford ranger will not start quickly 2.3 engine

is this a dual plug 2.3 engine as there are plugs not only on the passenger side of the motor and also on the drivers side of the motor kind of below the intake manifold.these plugs are a different plug number than the ones on the passenger could also have a dirty throttle valve which only needs to be cleaned, you would need a can of throttle cleaner and a toothbrush and remove the air intake hose that goes to the air filter, spray the intake and throttle valve(it`s the plate that moves when you move the accelerator),then brush the throttle bore and open the throttle and brush the plate, continue to do this until all dirt is removed and probably will have to hold the throttle wide open to start the car to get rid of the cleaning liquid but don`t hold it there after it could also have a bad fuel pump that takes time to pump the fuel pressure up high enough to start the car or even a bad sensor like a throttle position switch
