Your fuel pump will be in the tank. Some manufactures are doing away with filters but of you have one it will be in the fuel line under the car. Probably near the fuel tank.

I'm thinking you took it to a point and guess shop.? I think it is this, Nope, Now I think it is this, nope......Well I'm thinking it is a bad fuel module, because of where they locate them. Could just be the plug, corrosion. I'm also thinking you have a bad ground also. I'm also thinking you should find another shop, And demand your money back for a misdiagnosed job, that didn't fix the problem.

Is the fuel pump located inside the tank on a 1989?

dont go replacing everything...thats gonna get expensive real quick...especially that fuel pump. yep...the pump is inside the tank. stand out side your truck, and turn the key over, but not enough to start it. you should haer a whirring sound lasting about 2-3 secs. come from the back of the truck. this is the fuel pump powering up. if you dont hear it...then the pump is bad. if you do hear it, have a friend turn the key while you look at the carb/injectors to see if fuel is spraying thruthem,if it isnt....then you have a clogged fuel filter. BUT...b4 you do any of this...check your fuel pump relay and fuse to make sure they are good. a 10 cent fuse beats a 200 dollar pump any day.
keep me posted!!

Where is the gas filter on a 2005 vw touareg

Try underneath passenger side rear doors, inside the frame. If you gonna replace it yourself make sure you take off gas cap to relieve pressure from fuel system,if not it will spray you bad.

Low fuel pressure is there a fuel shutoff switch

Low engine oil pressure can cause a fuel pump to shut off. Its a safety feature included in most vehicles any more to prevent running an engine with little or no oil and burning up the engine itself. Make sure the engine has enough oil, and then look for the oil sending unit. Could be bad, or going bad.
Try replacing the fuel filter. I would imagine it to be located under the car, inline with the fuel lines, otherwise consult your owners manual for the location.
Look for any broken ground wires in and around the engine compartment and possibly around the fuel tank itself. Could be dirty, corroaded, or just not making a good connection.
The last thing, I can think of would be a bad fuel pump. I've taken fuel pumps out of the fuel tank before where trash was cloging the first filter and rendering its capability, before finally burning up.

My car hesitates and slowsdown while driving

The fuel filter is in the gas tank with the fuel pump - it's actually a 'SOCK' that filters fuel before it enters the pump. Odds are it's not the filter. Odds are you have a Throttle Position Sensor which is going bad (bad spots in the potentiometer). Erratic resistance changes sending BAD signals to the Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module ECU & TCM. A good technician knows how to check it with an analog ohm meter.

Check all things airflow related. The PCV valve, the air cleaner, the mass airflow sensor and any other filters.
