Question about 1998 Ford Mustang
When i engage the e-brake, the brake light will not turn on and i can not get my convertible top down
If the parking brake switch is faulty...it will need to be replaced. The switch in on the parking brake arm assembly. Good Luck

First off, check the fuse. If it is blown, I would atleast check the electrical connector for the brake switch. Remember to never replace a fuse with a fuse with a higher amperage rating.
If the fuse isn't blown, it's still a fairly cheap and easy fix. The brake switch is about $20-30. If you look up from the brake pedal, you'll see a yellow pin that resembles a grenade pin. Pull that and the sensor should slide off. Carefully disconnect the electrical connector and look closely at it, if it seems burned at all on the clip side, have the connector replaced as well.
